Then you have a misconception of understanding business 101, because this is a poor practice. Anyone here knows Apple does this on purpose for marketing, let alone, you never acknowledged Amazon doesn’t need to take their store offline for XYZ amount of hours, it has nothing to do with ‘first world problems’, is everything to do with it still inconveniencing for those across the world who want to make a purchase that can’t for grandstanding causes. Case in point.

I don’t necessarily defend Apple, I try to be objective with competitors alike but I am partial to Apple with their products. That said, Apple has been grandstanding for years with keeping their website disconnected for hours at a time, when I think it’sto the point where it’s not always necessary to do so. Not when other websites of even a larger magnitude like Amazon never have to remove their website for 4/5 hours at a time.

Agreed. I've felt this for more than a decade.

Besides the phony 'the store is temorarily down' bs, the only other thing we need to fix is the asinine people who still wait in line for new product launches. Does it really make them feel like a better human to have a minorly improved piece of technology a few weeks earlier than most other people?

News flash people: If getting a phone 6 days earlier than your buddy is important to you - you need to get a life.
