Have you ever used Affinity Photo on iPad? .. And the Apple Pencil is being insulted to be compared to the Surface Pen. A tablet with macOS on it? ...see countless other discussions on why it's a bad idea. There was a thing called the ModBook ten years ago... go look at that. The product was in market, and it didn't take off.. what does that tell you?

Overtaking competitors? They never overtook the Surface Pro because the Surface pro was never anywhere near the iPad's sales.... and nor will it ever be if you've looked at the latest figures.
No I haven't run Infinity photo on an iPad, I have however run it on my Surface Pro connected by USB 3.0 to a large external Hard Drive that I store my projects on...
Have you used Photoshop on an iPad? What about an actual file manager? Used a mouse with one? Played a non mobile game on one? Use full Microsoft Office on one? and in my opinion anything being called a computer should at least be able to run good old fashioned WinAmp. I've tried both an Apple Pencil(my girl has one so it's not just a few seconds at the store) and a Microsoft Pen and the difference is negligible. When it comes to being only a fraction of a difference who cares. At least I have an eraser on top of my pen and a customizable button to do different things. As for modbook they actually are still selling their services so there must be some interest there.

Sounds like the iPad Pro 10.5 was still selling so they've replaced it with the new iPad Air.... Though its a bit of a downgrade - no pro motion, no camera flash, lesser camera, 2 speaker audio. At least its a price drop.
They don't want to give people more reasons to not upgrade to the new iPad Pro.

Pipelines are clogged with emoji, lately.

I wasn’t expecting the iPad Air to come back... and the price is extremely reasonable?

Is this sarcasm?

Nope. I’ve tried every single iPad that’s come out so far and the Mini is the best for my needs. Plopping down a Pro next to my laptop in a conference room or trying to deal with it going through TSA or on a tiny airplane tray table made anything bigger an unwieldy, unmanageable hindrance.

I use my Mini an average of 6-8 hours a day so making it work for me was important. This is the form factor that fits me best :)

Well that was fabulously underwhelming. But since I'm after a new iMac that really is new, I suppose I should be glad they didn't just sneak out a slightly better-specced version of their current antique. The wait (and the hope) goes on, and luckily, so does my poor old 2009 iMac.
