I think their tech stack is badly mangled. I think it's contractors who maintain these websites. This article is about Apple Maps:Whatever this is... the fact Apple still has to "pull down" their store to push maintenance fixes or catalog updates like promos and new products means either A) their tech stack is so badly mangled nobody knows how to fix it or B) they do it on purpose for publicity.
Publicity?! 😂 😂Whatever this is... the fact Apple still has to "pull down" their store to push maintenance fixes or catalog updates like promos and new products means either A) their tech stack is so badly mangled nobody knows how to fix it or B) they do it on purpose for publicity.
Pretty sure it is B. There is no way they "need" to do this anymore, especially at Apple scale.
Even during keynotes there is zero technical reason to pull down the store. They could flip a switch as products are announced and have them up in seconds. The tech to do that is pretty trivial these days...
Agonising with your 1 stock! 😂It's almost 2023. No one takes down their sites routinely for maintenance anymore. Come on Apple. As a shareholder, this is agonizing.
Nah, that award goes to Lenovo!Worst e-commerce site on the planet.
B. It’s always been B.Whatever this is... the fact Apple still has to "pull down" their store to push maintenance fixes or catalog updates like promos and new products means either A) their tech stack is so badly mangled nobody knows how to fix it or B) they do it on purpose for publicity.

I don’t see this happening. They already have the margins to absorb the increases in materials. Idk why they’d of all companies raise prices and have that pr look when they can carry on as usual just fine, especially With the fall lineup approaching apple doesn’t need to give people any less reason to upgrade stuff.Price increases incoming 🙃
right! I was thinking about how I was conditioned to pay for example $1 for certain energy drinks now its over $2. Grocery used to be $40 now its easy 60 to 70. I honestly don't know how most people can afford things these days. Food banks for examples aren't able to buy the same supplies as before. So everyone is hurting.It’s crazy! Everything is so dang expensive nowadays.
UPDATE product SET price = price * 1.2;
If you're in the US, the Back to School promotion ends Sept 26th. https://www.apple.com/us-edu/shop/browse/home/back_to_school/terms_conditionsI came back to order a MacBook Air with the education discount and the $150 gift card and found the store down before 12PST. Anyone know how long that promo was suppose to go for? I thought I had at least until the end of the day for it.
It's kinda A. 😬 WIP to make it as fast as the marketing pages.Whatever this is... the fact Apple still has to "pull down" their store to push maintenance fixes or catalog updates like promos and new products means either A) their tech stack is so badly mangled nobody knows how to fix it or B) they do it on purpose for publicity.
