If Apple does 50% of its sales online, every hour the store is down is costing the company $6.6 million based on last qtr sales

Doesn't mean anything. They'll just come back later and buy whatever they wanted.

It's not like 6.6 million vanishes never to return. It's pushed to a later time in the day.

Kinda meaningless comment.

While an interesting statistic, it assumes people who were going to make a purchase during the down time will no longer make that purchase. It seems more likely that the hours after the store comes back online will make up for the down time.

Wierd, not had a problem accessing UK nor US Apple website here. Im in the UK.

EDIT: Mybad, the front page loads, but not the store.

It seems to be working fine now. Doesn't look like anything has been updated.

So Apple is not a perfect company.

Hey, buddy. Look at my signature.

The front page (not the store) has crashed for me a couple of times now, both on the international and local website.

Doesn't work like that, since sales are not at a constant rate 24 hours a day.

Either way it hurts their sales, but not as much as you would think.

Lets hope everyones details from the app store haven't being stolen, you know, just for Lolz!!!

A mark down? I'm sorry, have I offended a member of the LOLZ group? Or are you not keeping up current events and all the companies that have been hacked and had user details stolen? Or are you living in a reality where that sort of thing never happens?

Host your online store content on Amazon.
Sue Amazon for their app store.
Online store not available anymore.
