Payment issues?

I bought a BTO Macbook Air on Aug 13th... Originally there was problems with my debit card (security locked it out)... which is weird because I've bought things twice as expensive from Apple with the same card and account with no payment issues. So I call my bank and straighten everything out and the payment finally goes through. They charge the $100 back to school gift card promotion first on Monday, then yesterday the $1,184 for the actual computer. This left $20 in the account which I padded for this reason, everything is fine. I try to buy breakfast this morning with that card and it's declined. I log into Bank of America to see what happened and my account shows an available balance of -$1,164 but the ledger only shows apple charged it once...

Could it be this downtime is to fix payment issues?:(

There are two people voting everything in the thread down. I would not worry too much. Probably one of those people on my ignore list that takes a contrary position on everything, even though they can't possibly believe what they are saying. I would call them trolls, but they would disagree with that too.
 
This is really messing with my head. Im calling in sick just incase it is something I would regret missing! This is my 3rd Apple related sick day this year, so Im hoping it is worth it this time!
 
Still down. Like many users I was never able to get to the "be right back" sticky.

Hmm... this is strange. Anonymous? I know previous posters had said no because we haven't heard any boasting yet...

Come on people, lets be reasonable. Their site isn't being hacked, at least not by the big boys. It does sort of appear that way, but I doubt it.

Reasons not being hacked:
1. Worldwide (possible sign of hack, but in every country? That's pretty hard)
2. 3am to start the attack? Seriously? If I was a hacker, I'd do it noon-afternoon into evening. I'd say majority order computers around lunchtime or dinnertime.
3. Only the store is having issues. If you want to deface a company, you shoot down the whole site.
4. I'm sure I could figure out other reasons but I don't have time

So in conclusion, yes it's possible, but I'd say improbable that it's because of a hack.

Edit: Downgrading begins, or maybe its one of those just downgrading for the heck of it.

Woohoo!!!!!! Theres a new Macmini and a new MBA!!! Oh wait..... Well they are back up nowt changed. Emergency over. Nothing to see hear move along.
