This is the same cloth that came with my Pro XDR display.

We are only supposed to use that specific cloth to clean our nano displays and if we lost the cloth, we had to contact Apple to get another one and pay $19. I've had to do this as not to risk damaging my display coating with a generic microfiber towel.

This is just a GUESS, but I'm going to assume perhaps they put this available because enough people were contacting customer support to order the cloth to replace their old ones.

It definitely does not feel like a regular microfiber towel. Its a ton more softer.
That does appear to be the case, from other reports saying the same thing.

Regarding screen cleaning fluid, a year ago when I was at the Apple Store I noticed they were using this screen cleaner for iPhones and other devices by their own staff in the store. I ordered this from Amazon, it includes a couple of cloths along with the cleaning fluid. It works fine but I wouldn't say it is necessarily superior to other cleaners:

My iMac with nano-texture display came with the same cloth. Cloth can be cleaned, but replacement would require a support call. It's definitely different material than other ones I've used, but not sure if it's $20 magical.

Can't hardly believe how people get so excited over Apple's Polishing Cloths!

I’ve heard of stories of people dumpster diving for Apple masks. Some people aren’t playing with a full deck.

Local Apple store had one for same day delivery. Couldn't resist lol.

It is quality stuff though.

Just wait until Apple unleashes the Apple Pro Toilet Paper, an exclusive tissue for the modern urban dweller, with low climate footprint, fortification with titanium threads and a hologram logo imprinted on every sheet. Just $9.99 per roll, a bargain.

You don't. You REPLACE it. There's no ongoing profit if you can clean and re-use.

I expect Cloth 2 to be a subscription service: only $19, no $29, no $49/month. Yeah, that's it $49/month. ;)
I'm waiting for the iCloth Match service myself. Can't wait to pay a subscription fee to be able to have access to polishing cloths everywhere I go because I have one at home.

I might buy one to clean all my devices tvs, iPhone and my new MacBook. Only for the fact I do not own a microfibre cloth.

I use rags at the moment, so I guess it’s a rags to riches tale.

Remember when the iMac included a cloth with the instructions.

Now you gotta add the cleaning cloth right when you upgrade your MBP power brick. Apple thrist for ancillary sales never goes away
TBF I remember when you had to pay hundred of $ for macOS (OS X) but now it’s free so it goes both ways.

Just picked this up at the store alongside my 14 inch
The guy didn't even know it existed and I basically said I was buying it for the memes lmao, It's a high quality cleaning cloth, not much else to say

Only going to use it for my new machine probably
Have some micro fiber clothes so I’m fine but the level of bitter (started as jokes) in here pique my interest lol. I might get one.
