Phone bumping might not be liked by Phil Schiller, but as someone on the go a lot, it'd be nice to leave most of my wallet at home. Metro North here accepts NFC, and in Denmark I recall machines taking NFC. But I have an iPhone so I can't use these things...

Well i have never seen any nfc terminal existing in germany or uk.
Besides payment is something i dont want to do with NFC. But thats mainly because i know to much about NFC

Ironically Samsung themselves have quietly disagreed about that. The big.little implementation of the new Exynos apparently doesn't work all that well and has been cited as one of problems of the new Exynos, which led Samsung to use more Qualcomm chips over their own Exynos for Galaxy S4.

Also calling it "octacore" is just completely misleading. There's no performance gain to be had over quadcore but calling it octa implies that.

The problem isn't the architecture, its that android does't ready to take advantage of these 4+4 approach.

BTW the real competition the iPhone 5/5S faces comes from HTC One and Xperia Z, best android hardware yet, and have some interesting features: Much Faster 4x CPU/GPU, NFC, IR Blaster, Full HD, *UltraPixel Camera, and in my opinion having the one and iPhone 5 on my hands, HTC have some lessons to Apple and Samsung in Build Quality matters, Looks and feels more expensive the one than the iPhone., no cheap plastic, no fragile can.

on other side, Phablets are a new concept with fast adoption, while some people may complaint about it size, for other are perfect and enables full web experience, and unparalleled gaming experience, at least Apple must launch an 6-7" iPod touch.

Sony just launched few NFC accessories, an smart bluetooth hands free, and an smart watch, all you need to do to pair and configure is to slide it over the NFC sensor, and walla ...

I would like an water proof iPhone 5 as the Xperia Z, or the Galaxy S5 Active...

Black front panel with naked aluminum shell, please.

Didn't they do that already?

Nice! The Dual Flash looks like they're separated for Tungsten color balance and Daylight color balance..

This means your nighttime party pics aren't going to be as harsh-blue and will match room lighting.

The colored flash matches a tungsten filter. For example:

I was gonna mention about that, great answer!

Has quad-core chip? 1500mAH battery? Still years behind competition Apple, SET UP YOUR BLOODY GAME!!! SAMSUNG HAD QUADCORE EARLY LAST YEAR!!!

And it's so great that Samsung doesn't even use it in the US and they still get worse battery life with a 2100 mAh battery! Step up your game samsung!!!!

Arguing over last yr's device? Well, look at the S4. Quad Core processor with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 2600 mAh battery.

So is the phone getting bigger at all? Or will it still be small? The size of the iPhone is so 2 years ago.

HTC have some lessons to Apple and Samsung in Build Quality matters, Looks and feels more expensive the one than the iPhone., no cheap plastic, no fragile can.

Are... are you saying Apple needs to take a design note from HTC and use less plastic?

....

None of the iPhones in production are plastic. At all.

I like how the HTC One feels but that phone can't be serviced at all. That's a lesson Apple doesn't need to learn.

GPU isn't faster. Who cares if the CPU is faster? It's about the user experience.

I don't see a lot of people clamoring for that feature. I also don't see it as a reason for changing platforms entirely.

IR Blaster,

Same with NFC. iOS devices are the only ones that can control like the appletv. There are universal remote extensions from logitech that allow your phone to be a remote if you're so inclined.

It's more about pixel density. The other side of that coin is screen size, where many people tend to be happy with 4". It isn't a choice where 4.7" is clearly better. That's a preference thing.

*UltraPixel Camera,

That gets reviewed worse than the iphone 5 and nokia cameras.

and in my opinion having the one and iPhone 5 on my hands, HTC have some lessons to Apple and Samsung in Build Quality matters, Looks and feels more expensive the one than the iPhone., no cheap plastic, no fragile can.

As many others have pointed out, the iphone 5 and iphone 4/s have no plastic.

on other side, Phablets are a new concept with fast adoption, while some people may complaint about it size, for other are perfect and enables full web experience, and unparalleled gaming experience, at least Apple must launch an 6-7" iPod touch.

They don't have to do anything. If they want to skip on the market they'd add (or segment their current market) by doing something like that, they will. But it's clearly a user preference thing. And how is gaming on an ipad or ipad mini not exactly what you're after with "unparalleled gaming experience"?

I would like an water proof iPhone 5 as the Xperia Z, or the Galaxy S5 Active...

That would be nice, especially if it necessitated no design compromises.

Is that what is needed to power Android these days?

Oh dear!

Well.....it is what is needed for a fast fluid, phone, that runs for a day and a half, plus software matches hardware.

Say you have an old Mac, and it is runs Maverick, it will be slow and laggy, it was not built to suit Maverick, but if you get the same computer and put it on an even older version of MacOS, it will run like a frigging genius, and will boot up in 10 seconds flat. So the fact that iPh only needs a 1.3Ghz DUAL core processor, isn't saying something about Androids power demands, it is saying that iOS is an out of date OS, and hopefully that will change with iOS7. :D

They do now, the S4 has a quad core in the US and a 8 core in other variant, they don't really give US much do they :p this is the problem, not with Googles OS, but with Samsung etc, they make the fragmentation that is supposedly android, having 5000000000000 variants of the same phone, and putting TouchWiz crap on it. :)

My 3 year old iMac is running Mountain Lion well. Your logic is flawed.

-.- 3 years isn't that old, mate. Get a 6 year old device and try. I have them at work, and they take 10 minutes to boot up, and another 5 to log in!

"It shows iOS is out of date"

How? How does being more optimized show anything about whether or not the OS is "outdated"?

Did you not read my post -.- . Hardware is made for the current software, and vice versa. And so if you can give out of date, slow hardware, :O NO NOT iPHONE 5!!!! Yes, that runs on 2 year out of date specs, 1GB Ram, 1.3GHz Dual core processor, and have it run like a beast on iOS 6 a "current" software it, that shows that it is not actually current but out of date.

A current piece of hardware will run XP like a pro, boot up in around 20 seconds and just beast. Get the hardware and win8 and it will run fast yes, but, it will not boot up in 20 seconds etc.
So if you can have a out of date hardware run like a beast on iOS6 that is saying that iOS6 is also out of date. But iOS7 will change this!!!!

Ugh, so you think the A6 in the iPhone 5 is 2 years out of date despite it not hitting its 1 year release date yet? It was cutting edge when it was released. Maybe you've been drinking some bad duff?

What? Ugh, Win8 can boot ridiculously fast on current hardware.

My suggestion is to hire an IT guy..

Yeah....we have crappy IT guys :p well, obviously, that was a exaggeration, but it takes a really long time.

It was out of date when it released, like I said, 1.3GHz DUAL CORE vs the HTC One X (which had been out for 7 months I might add) which had 1.4Ghz QUAD CORE, both based on ARM.

Good Win 8 point, maybe I should of used Win 7 and win 7 gen hardware :p
