I'd like to see a logo a bit like this. It's called a record player but it's a nice one, it's an LP12.
Safari, Health and Photos icon would like a word on that.If this means Apple will finally retire the most ugly icon in all of history, the iOS camera app icon, I’m happy!
Might be to define the difference between developer facing/artist facing apps and not normal consumer apps. I don't think they will have hairline borders on all the icons. That border-hairline kinda scares me. Why is it there?
What is the skeuomorph here?I love the design I think they are going back to skeuomorphism, really hated the lazy flat design
Chess.com is nice and clean in terms of design and you can play it on a computer tooSkeuomorphism really bugs me. I was looking on the iOS App Store the other day for a clean 2D good-looking chess game, and I basically gave up. Too many apps with ugly controls/decorations more suitable to a casino table, uninspired pieces, or pointless 3D graphics.
Really Bad Chess looked like it would fit the bill. Nicely designed pieces with a clean uncluttered UI. Ironically, the UI looks Really Good, but I want to play a proper game of chess, not a tongue-in-cheek version with random pieces.
Maybe I’m too fussy. That’s why I have a really small number of installed apps.
Would you be using your artist app all that often? Seems like a prime candidate to store in your library.yucky.... the new icon... It will be the only one on my iPhone's six pages of icons that has that line around the outside.
Yes I agree to the look.Honestly, the UI looked better in the "Aqua" years. But I agree, the saturation can be lowered a bit.
Maybe even close to greyscale when elements / icons are not in focus. And remove all the flat look. Same for iOS.
Back in the day I adjusted iTunes 10.7 UI elements to low coloured version, just because I didn't like the all grey and flat UI.
So many experts in macrumors threads. It seems their main icon designers are freshmen from college, who just discover one function of Photoshop after the other, and use them all with the default settings. It's so amateurish, I'm really wondering what is going on with Apple in regards to UI design in general. A lot of their latest changes have UX designers pull their hair, because they get even the basics wrong, apparently lacking any knowledge or experience in iconography, usability, legibility, etc.
Yes. It’s origins is the Mac Applications icon which was an A made from tools (paint brush, ruler and something else). These tools are now sticks.Did anyone ever figure out what the App Store icon is actually supposed to be? Three sticks arranged to look like an ‘A’… is that literally it?
