Extremely unlikely. Or i`d say it`s impossible. We`ll definitely get DVD quality(atleast as an option). But my guesses are 720p will also be offered to those with a really really FAT internet pipe. Fat enough to fill a human body I guess:D .

You're way too optimistic. Remember when everyone thought Apple was going to announce a wireless AV box that connected to a stereo and/or television complete with Front Row interface? What did we get? We got the iPod HiFi. Prepare to be disappointed.

Not to add onto the whining about merom notebooks, but I thought people a little while back were saying they'd be coming on the apple event on the 12th...

The rumor on this forum was that Core 2 Duo updates for Macbook Pro were expected in August... but you're supposed to forget when such predictions are wrong. :p

I have what is allegedly the fastest residential internet connection in Canada. 4.3 mb/s
Really?? I live out of town in Ontario and I don't have access to DSL or cable High speed internet so I have wireless High speed internet and I get 7 mb/s. The problem is I only have 20GB of monthly transfer though.

I would be happy if it was in aluminium and in black to allow better cooling. But that would be mighty fine.

Would be nice with a usb and firewire port in front as well.

How would making it black make it cool more efficiently? *L*

Yeah, I hear that. I'm still waiting for my Apple Receiver...

There is somthing happening on iTunes 2morrow but i dont know what.

I work for a record label and i was unable to put songs on iTunes this week bacause of somthing apple was bringing out, so i have to wait until next week.

I would think it would be movies but you can get them posted to you faster than you can download them.

Airport Showtime

You WON'T have the computer in the same room, that's the whole point. The remote will talk to the airport. I don't know if Apple will offer a tuner, and I really don't care that much.
I agree. Frankly I don't see Apple providing any type of tuner/recording feature. They want you to purchase your content from the iTunes store. I agree with them as well. I want an "Airport Showtime" that outputs 480p with Component Video connectors, and an Apple Remote with Frontrow interface. I really don't care how the content is captured since I am going to be ripping from DVD's I purchase or content purchased from iTunes.

I don't think the bandwidth is there for 720p or 1080p yet. If you want HD on your TV and have HDMI or DVI you have probably already purchased a mini anyways.

Needs a firewire hookup as well... Since all the DVRs on the market are supposed to have one so should this puppy.

No DVD player though. Apple will want to save $$$ and reduce the cost by not including one (besides everybody already has one and Blue-Ray/HD-DVD is just around the bend).

Basically right though...;)

Looks perfect except for it doesn't need a built in DVD player!! It is also missing Component Video connectors, I assume those vertical ports are supposed to be HDMI and mini-DVI?

What? No HMDI? Component Video? That mockup would be a major letdown if it did not have the above video outputs.

No, the 2 verticals ports are 1 usb and the power imput.

That thing is stupid, no HD connections and no need for a dvd player.

What would the point be? The thing does not have any internal storage if it is streaming from your computer correct, just RAM for buffering. On second thought it would be cool if you could connect a firewire HD to it and be able to play any movies it found on the hard-drive.

Also I can't tell if the round connector is S-Video out or an analog cable connector for capturing I assume S-Video because the thing doesn't look large enough for a hard-drive.

Oh thanks when I clicked on the image the first time I got no response from the larger image so I was only looking a the tiny thumb. Now it works! Your right the current configuration is stupid.

What is the point of the two different audio ports? Isn't one enough? It should just have an optical connector, Audio R, Audio L, S-Video, RCA Video (Yellow)/Component Y, Component Pb, Component Pr, HDMI, Ethernet and no DVD.

Well, before everyone starts in on it...that was made quite a long time ago. It was just a stripped down mini that was marketable as a simple "all your media in one place without a computer" thing. I wanted that for like the last 4 major events...

I know of 10mb/s

The fastest I've seen in the UK is 24mb/s, unlimited usage for £24 a month.

Lots of providers offer 8mb/s and upwards in the UK.
