Apple's September Event: New Products to Expect Beyond the iPhone 16

I am due for the watch upgrade because I get it for free via my health insurance bonus points and if I don’t spend them now the first set would start to disappear due to the years past since I collected them. But to be honest I am not 100% certain if there have been any changes since my six that go beyond bigger and brighter screen. 🤣
well, if the render we got turns out to be accurate there goes that. I guess we will see. I believe tech YouTubers are already collecting tears in case of no big look upgrade.
but honestly. Just checked on comparing my six to the watch nine and there is alleged calorie intake tracking (why would one need a new watch for that, no one ever talked about it anyway…), alleged body temperature tracking (I think this is mostly for women period tracking or what am I missing out on?), the finger gesture thing that worked before but now requires the series 9 to work… bigger screen, brighter screen.
They „need“ something new, else they might as well skip the yearly upgrade Cycle. The only new thing we got was paying twice as much for batteries runtime that dos not die if your out on a all day hike/bike tour. „Ultra“ paywall.
im assuming and hoping for the blood pressure deal to be part of this years upgrade as it’s something I actually deal with.
I’d imagine glucose is being held of for another year if it’s even ready. just so they have something to ad in coming years.
If the new size is a thing it would kinda suck holding the new band attachment thing of for another year or two since the bigger watch would not have that legacy claim of „well it’s been like that for 10 years, at some point…“
Surprised there's no rumors of a base iPad update. It's coming up on 2 years since the 10th gen released. I'm sure that it's just going to be a spec bump so why not throw it into the September update and leave October for Macs and MacOS/Apple Intelligence? I can't see the base iPad getting an A18, A17Pro or M-series chip so it would be a bit embarrassing to launch an non-AI capable device at the same time as Apple Intelligence is touted in October (reminder: Apple Intelligence seems to be launching in iOS/iPadOS 18.1)
Oh! With all the noise of iPhone 16, Apple Intelligence and iOS 18, I had forgotten about the Apple Watch 10! And I find it intriguing, I want to see how much can they reduce the size/thickness.
However, if the Apple Watch SE 3 comes finally with oxygen measuring and apnea detection, I think I’d settle with an SE 3.

I'm hoping for a new MagSafe iPhone battery... the third-party ones all lack the integration of Apple's old one and Apple's old one for the iPhone12 had a tiny battery.

I like your point of view mate, when both watches are presented the debate will be which one to go for? I’ve been looking at the Ultra 3 but what if the new watch X is bigger with the same features??? You know what i mean?
I would never want to get one one from my insurance company so they figure out home fat and lazy I am.
Man, if I don’t see nothing really innovating on the watch category, i think i will go target and buy me the ultra 1 new And wait for next year.
I get you. I can't imagine battery being as good as the Ultra without making it bigger, though. I'm probably sticking with my gen 1 ultra.
If nothing convinces me, ill go target and buy me the ultra 1 and wait for another year.
Sounds like major changes, which is something Apple doesn't do anymore for their laptops
Base iPad refresh. If they want to keep it inline with Apple Intelligence it’s going to need an A18 chip with at least 8GB RAM.

Apple was a much better company when it was more niche on its comeback trail.
The way it works in Germany is that you build up a bonus and you can either half the money and do whatever with it or you buy something health related, hand the bill in and get the money payed out in full. So all the insurance knows is that I bought a fitness tracker at Apple.
Yeah I feel like this is a weak year. Probably the weakest in a long time
