Siri is not even context aware. It’s just a silly script reader.
You don’t hire the head of Google’s AI if you think a Siri that tells jokes is the goal.
pretty sad when the best thing Siri can do is tell jokes....
In line with the Indian Hyderahamablabad facility with 4000 “engineers” working on Apple Maps, and the intrinsical nature of its defects, the Siri project could only be saved using say 40 million online operators
(or either 39.999.995 - to spare a few for iOS dark mode...)

I've got 14oz boxing gloves ... just point me to whomever at Apple wasted their paycheque on stupid jokes when an AI used to make jokes cannot help sell a brand new HomePod product be useful as an AI connected speaker? They need to be KNOCKED the F OUT!

Seriously this is just stupid use of resources ... improve Siri's jokes and not what Siri can do to help a new product?
Well if teens are planning to buy a new iPhone when they upgrade in millions then I guess there is NO incentive for Apple to improve Siri ... because well teens are the majority purchaser of Apple products.

No we shouldn't let their developers have a little fun.

Those features you're speaking of have been there for over 2yrs now ... I personally have yet to have anything in my home connected yet soon will. It's going to be nice ... but with no major improvements you need to ask yourself are you really satisfied now ... and going to be in 4yrs from now if Siri just doesn't improve except in telling more lame jokes?!

Siri is supposed to be more than an assistant for tasks. May not be so important to you or the high end Apple die-hard but to someone with physical difficulties and challenges ... I want Siri and FaceID improve by leaps and bounds!! We see the benefits of the real hard work that Apple developers put into HomeKit for this simple aspect: Accessibility. HomeKit wasn't just created so you can turn on and off your lights or control iTunes just cause someone is simply too lazy to pickup their remote (and no searing steak is important yet not going to stop you from 10 seconds using a remote).

That's what I think most of are getting at and furious at.
The two things are not cancelling each other out. And sorry one main purpose of HomeKit that 100% of the population can appreciate and enjoy has gotten a little higher priority than features only a few people need (if that’s even true)
[doublepost=1523862270][/doublepost]Amazing the number of people getting butthurt over something that was probably just an intern’s job as they are adding more Siri answers to the database to improve Siri’s interactions overall. And MacRumors building an article around a nothing special just to have something to post

And where do you think Apple got the ability to push the following features for the 100% of the population to use from? Who where their test subjects?

Siri control for lights, room temparature, door unlock, garage unlock, auto sensor for lights, themes, etc?

Those with accessibility needs MUST have these features vs those of us that do not have accessibility needs would love to have these features. The needs have invoked the ability to grant the wants to enjoy said features. Think of how antilock and carbon disc brakes came from F1 racing before trickling down to production cars. Same main principle. The majority doesn’t realize the potential without a small segment realizing the need first ;)

Is bowling useful?

Love how people act like everything has to have some inherent utility to be worth anything.

MOST of what we do for fun and even otherwise isn't useful. It's called FUN.

And no, this doesn't mean Apple can't work on more important things or the entire company is spending their time writing jokes for Siri.
So where is it? Where is the non-fun stuff?
I guess animoji.
