Is it really an advertisement if the only way you're exposed to it is by deliberately trying to trigger it? With a "hidden" trigger at that?

It's like going to YouTube and searching for the Oxyclean commercial, then complaining about how annoying it is. Just don't go to it?

Apple has had hidden Siri Easter eggs for years (as has the competition) that references different movies, shows, and games and no one complained then. Not sure how this is different, but I guess people love to complain.

Oh yeah, adding one quote to a database list sure takes a ton of resources.

maybe not but it SURE does take from simplistic non-high-traffic driving routes such as.
This attached. In red freehand is the route Siri chose and there is no medium street to obstruct from a more direct path.

This irks me.

Huh? So what is that image, if it's not the image showing Siri's route?

As for your freehand route; all I see is what looks like an intelligent detour around a traffic clusterfk.

Sorry i previously uploaded from google maps via PC while working. His attached is dorrect from IP6S viri Siri.
The route shown here nt only is lobger but immediately begines to take me away from my desired destination, then along a scenic route then tonmy destination.

Passing HWY 401 on Victoria Park avenue to Sheppard is the most simplistic route. Human comon sense can tell a 5yr that, but AI that apple has purchased and delegated engineers time into add for Lego batman is althoughh comedic escape its becoming sad at basics.

"Hey Good Computer"

Siri's responses:
"All truly intelligent assistants prefer Macintosh"

"The Mac! If it wasn't for the Mac, I wouldn't be here."

"The Apple Macintosh is my favourite computer"

"I prefer the Mac."

"If it's made by Apple, then it's the best computer."

Now if we could only get Tim to feel that way about the Mac....

But honestly, do you say 'Hey computer' or 'Hey 'puter' to your phone? I saw the movie, and recognized that it was a 'Siri' voice and still never thought to do that. The only way you'd be subjected to this ad is if you were trying to engage it. I really don't think this is as horrifying as some are making it out to be. But that's just my opinion.

There's an article here, on BGR, Business Insider, Engadget, Gizmodo etc etc., not to mention all the forums discussing it.

It's cross-promotion however you look at it.

yes, yes we know, for people like you Siri can do things that it can't do for others who live in reality.

Well I have multiple Amazon Echos and Siri on all my Apple devices and whilst neither are anywhere close to perfect, Siri out performs Alexa on most things IN REALITY. Especially smart home stuff, Alexa's Philips Hue integration is near on useless. Also Siri understands me saying the same thing in multiple ways - Alexa feels more like speech recognition where you have to say the exact phrase to trigger the incident and if you put words a different way around it has no idea what you're saying.

If you are referring to the capitalization, that is just the way the Lego company likes to spell it.
PR people do frequently put their brand names in all caps for effect but capitalisation is a stylistic element of the trade mark, which is an artistic representation. The name itself should be treated as any other proper noun in general use.

The LEGO Batman Movie, released last Friday, features the voice of Apple's personal assistant Siri as Batman's personal computer. Batman's computer works in much the same way as Siri, responding to his voice requests whenever he says "Hey 'puter."

As it turns out, there's a secret tie-in hidden in the iPhone, too. Whenever you say "Hey 'puter" (or "Hey Computer") to Siri, she responds to you as if you're LEGO Batman.

"I am at your service, Lego Batman sir," and "Welcome home, sir. I have your rom coms queued up, sorted by decade," are just two of the multiple humorous phrases Siri shares whenever the personal assistant hears "Hey 'puter."

Apple updates Siri on a regular basis, and this isn't the first time the personal assistant has gained humorous responses ahead of an upcoming event, but it may be the first serious movie tie-in.

Siri was previously updated in August 2016 to offer funny responses to questions about Pokémon Go, and again in September to respond to questions ahead of the iPhone 7's debut.

In addition to the Siri easter egg, there's also a free iOS app that accompanies The LEGO Batman Movie, which was released back in January.

Hey. I was so confused because I said something and Siri mistakes it for “hey
Puter”
It only responds to lego Batman if you say that but it doesn’t do anything related to Batman if you say hey computer

Dude - It's 2018. The lego batman movie was out and this article was written on Feb 14th of 2017! That's almost two (2) years ago!

Exactly! That’s the point my friend. Isn’t it weird that Apple would still have that command in Siri 2 years later.

Okay - strange in your experience for sure. I tried everything and can't get Siri to do it. Not that it may matter but what iOS version are you running?
Bro. You have to say “hey puter” for Siri to act like the batcomputer. I’ve said this from the beginning

Yes - Siri didn't hear me say "Hey Puter" like it did during that time. Instead it heard me say "Hey Puteur" or something like that. It's rare Siri doesn't understand what I say so that was strange. It wasn't until I text corrected it that it started working.
Good
