Spring Loaded - hopefully this means many announcements!
It means absolutely nothing.
Like I said before, back in September 2018 when the event was called “gather round,” people were sure that it meant that a round Apple Watch was coming. It didn’t.
In September 2019, when the event was called “by innovation only,” people were convinced that it meant that there was going to be glasses that were going to be innovative. It didn’t, all that was announced was the iPhone 11 series, the Apple Watch series 5, and the iPad seventh generation.
Keep expectations low

I don’t mean to be ‘that guy’ but an entire keynote for an iPad refresh and AirTags? There’s gotta be something else on the agenda no?
In September, there was an entire event for the Apple Watch series 6 and SE, and the iPad Air, which was literally just a cheaper iPad Pro.
In October, there was an entire event for the HomePod mini and the iPhone 12.
In November, there was an entire event for the new MacBook Air, Mac mini, and 13 inch MacBook Pro, where they were identical other than the processor used.
Prepare for just iPad Pro and airtags.
Almost every reputable leaker says that’s all we’re getting.

Would it be an oxymoronic to release an iPhone SE Pro? 🤞

I do hope they surprise us with iPhone SE Plus, but it seems unlikely. iPhone 12 Pro Max gave me constant headaches. I’ll be taking a close look at the new iPads.

It could not possibly be more clear that if AirTags were intended for release, let alone next week, they would have been announced at the same time as the Find My network.
You make a really good point! Apple wouldn’t share a service they’re ready for if they had their own hardware to go with it. If airtags don’t drop next week, they’re not coming at all

AirPods Max were referenced in 14.0 beta 1, released on June 22.
The products themselves didn’t officially release until December 8.
Same with The Touch Bar back in 2016, it was referenced in a build of macOS released in May, but they didn’t release until October.
Also, we could still be on 11.3 on June 7, it’s not that far away.
It would make sense too, since it’s the one-year anniversary of them announcing the apple silicon transition.
“One year ago, we announced that we would be transitioning the Mac line over to Apple silicon. And today, we’re happy to announce that our most popular desktop computer will now be running on apple silicon from this day forward.”
Your prediction makes a lot of sense and I think you’re probably right... However, I also believe Apple is positioning the smaller iMac (24) to be the 21.5 and 27” replacement. Which means it’s a mid tier machine between the Air and larger iMac. Speaking of which, the larger iMac will be released at WWDC as the iMac Pro replacement.
It would make sense if that’s how Apple marketed them too between the differing sizes

that’s what I said about the iPhone XR, when it was rumored to come in colors.
And when I heard about the iPad Air coming in blue and green? I was like what the hell? This can’t be real.
But it is, and was, so I believe it.

Great points. You may be correct.

The spring logo looks like a cursive “e” I guess some education focus on the iPads as always?

I’d put money on iMacs at WWDC like when they moved the iMac to intel all those years ago.

Hopefully less ripping off The Postal Service’s Such Great Heights video this time though. 😉
The educational aspect of spring logo makes a lot of sense. Certainly schools in many locations are just trying to return to normal. Multiple products around that could be the focus of the event. :)

The new Pre-recorded and then streamed format of Apple Events now means that they can focus on one or two products and not worry about wasting people's time and money to fly out to Cupertino. Doing this last year allowed them to get good media attention for September, October, and November. They can also limit it to around an hour event instead of pushing two to jam pack everything in at once that got held off.

This dovetails nicely with my birthday next week. My original 27" Retina iMac could use some rest. Really hopeful the new M1 iMac is in the offerings.

I highly, highly, highly doubt it.
Demand has just about normalized for AirPods Max.

It seems like a fitness-oriented model would be a solid spring addition. Timing-wise I think it makes sense, I’m just not sure they’re ready to further expand the AirPods lineup.

I know the odds aren't high, but I'm hoping Apple will go back to a Spring release for the base model iPad this month as well. I need a new iPad, and I don't want to wait until Fall.

I'm glad the Siri leak was correct 🤣

I'm really enjoying watching these prerecorded events while working from home.
Ha! Me too! I just schedule the time in my calendar and it's Keynote time with better tea than I ever get at the office. Let's hear it for the silver linings around this substantial dark cloud. :)
