I don't get it. So many people get so excited when their stock rises. Do you own stock or something? If not, what does their stock price get you?

Yeah I do own their stock and it's up 67% since I bought it. :D

I'd hate to burst their bubble, but what goes up must come down. Sorry, its the law..

That's like saying that at some point, we all have to die. It doesn't mean a thing.

I'm more interested in how it will play out. And this isn't a bubble. There is real substance supporting Apple's stock price.

Yeah, but come on. This guy already had more money than he'd ever need. He didn't need that investment. I challenge him to put that money into Apple in 2005 if he really needed the income from it.

What has need got to do with anything? You made disproving your point all too easy. I didn't have as much to invest as the Prince but it was a significant amount relative to my net worth at the time. Hey, maybe we are both insane -- or are secretly named Steve Jobs!

"Apple for $7?! What a waste!" they said...
"Microsoft is going to own them soon," they said...

Really do you have to post Apple stock prices? Like that has anything to do with the ownership or use of Apple products. It's usually the cheesy Apple cheerleading Websites that post Apple stock prices in big fonts so fanboys who don't own any Apple can go "rah rah rah, we're cool". Just a thought.

Many readers on this forum are undoubtedly interested in news like this, because it has an effect on and reflects the health of APPLE as a company and is relevant as such; if it doesn't interest you, feel free to skip over it.

This is just too Great - awesome seeing the company you love winning and breaking barriers ..... going to the top:)

And......arrived! :)

You're right about that. But when?? That is the $650B question....... :(

Strongly reminds me of a dialogue in a Hindi movie:

"Don't waste your time chasing success. Chase Excellence. Success will then start chasing you anyways."

I think its apt to use it for Apple. And also for Mr. Jobs.

If I gave you two tens for a twenty, would you have more money?

I agree withe 99% of your views so far but not once did he say that you have will have more money post split.

All he said was they should do a split so its more affordable..... and its not like the price wont make its way back up anyway.

Very good news that apple keeps on doing well. They should just be a company like any other and keep up the good work. Maintaining a steady progression is very good news for mac/apple users. Hopefully they keep on inventing worthy products and keep their current line at the edge of technology. So far they have demonstrated good work. Good enough to keep us happy for now.

Anyone got a time machine set for 1996?

No...but I have one set for 1990 would that be okay? :)

I'm guessing you don't own any Apple stock. Just a thought.

I'd say it has to fall... but then they only need to PUT AN APP STORE ON APPLE TV and that product becomes the next iPhone - simple as...

Eurgh, why didn't i buy all those shares years ago :(

Why didnt I buy last weeks lotto ticket? I know the results now.

But that aside, I dont think its too late to make some money off it just yet I havent seen any evidence that aapl is peaking just yet.

I expected this to happen at last update. Im suprised it hasnt happened yet. I believe it would fly out if/once it does.

Not a bubble, but people do expect Apple to keep making big profits, and they do make big profits.

If you want to look at a bubble, check out gold, a yellow metal with not so many uses and a value of $1,761 per ounce. I don't know how likely this is to happen, but I'm afraid that it'll drop by 95% one day. Nobody would be able to see it coming

Except its the most stable currency on this planet. (and oldest currently used???)

Actually, I think technology journalist/prognosticator John C. Dvorak has you beaten in that department. Sorry, but every time I see a story of Apple's remarkable success, I think of this:

1987: Reliving the Past and the Mac

and this:

Apple should pull the plug on the iPhone

and most recently (last week), this:

Apple's Not-So-New iPhone

Yes, John C. Dvorak is that "special" person you're talking about. Yeah, he's definitely very special. And amazingly, he STILL makes a living doing what he's doing. I guess PC Magazine and CBS Marketwatch have pretty low standards. Mr. Dvorak is certainly not in the same league as the likes of Walt Mossberg or David Pogue. Don't you wonder if he ever looks in the mirror and thinks, "What the hell is wrong with me?"
Amazing.
I should follow his posts.
So I can know how Apple will NOT be in the future:D

Not sure if you are serious but just in case you are....
