Sorry MR, I already said "In b4 293842 news stories: Apple hits 700 in after-hours trading." on my facebook page. DIdn't you get the memo?

Honestly, stop reporting every time Apple farts. Anyone who's invested in them knows. Anyone else doesn't care.

Doc, I need the Delorean to take me back to 2007!!!

No, Marty, you must not use the time machine for financial benefit!

Yeah, they only need to report the huge milestones like "Apple now the world's most valuable company" or "Apple now the world's most valuable company of all time". Watch it reach another record tomorrow, at least for a second.

Back when Apple was $12.00 I had inherited a home from my parents. I was a huge Apple fan and watched everything very closely. I wanted to remortgage the house for $100,000 and buy $80,000 worth of stock and put 20k in the bank to make make the payments. I was so positive that they were gonna make a comeback. Although all the analysts insisted they were doomed, I had a feeling that with Job's was gonna comeback and pull his "baby" from the fire. The woman I was living with and engaged to, said that if I did something that irresponsible she would leave. I was just a bartender and how could I possibly know more than all these experts that said it was over for Apple. I began to doubt myself and I didn't do it. We ended up splitting up anyway...I always thought it was too late to jump in. I'm some special kind of idiot that's for certain!

Likely you would have sold when it doubled or tripled ... but is nice to think what you would have if you bought and never sold.

Really do you have to post Apple stock prices? Like that has anything to do with the ownership or use of Apple products. It's usually the cheesy Apple cheerleading Websites that post Apple stock prices in big fonts so fanboys who don't own any Apple can go "rah rah rah, we're cool".

Just a thought.

Yes MacRumors only care about page hits. And will write articles with catchy titles but zero substance and supporting evidence from time to time just to keep the page hits rolling in.

This is one of those page hit generating articles. Has no other purpose. The fact that people actually care about Apple stock prices is just a bonus and of no concern to MacRumors.

Yes I am one of these page hits, but it's one of the better Rumour sites out there despite all of the above. Still worth being here.

And that Samsung "it doesn't take a genius" article wasn't click bait? I'd rather read about Apple's stock price than another advertisement for the S3.

Wooow as ive always said Apple will indeed rule the world.

Makes me proud just being a customer ;)

Couldn't find any serious sources for "the value of everything" but all those I could find suggested a value way, way above 60 trillion dollars.

I would be very interested in any serious maths on this. Where did you learn about the 60 trillion?

Based on the 2011 figures the gross world product (GWP) which is not surprisingly the sum of all national gross domestic products was about 78 trillion.

The comment about being "one google" ahead threw me for a moment. I was thinking numbers, and a google is technically a number!

A googol is much bigger than a google.

1 googol = 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Okay, first - wow - insane. Second, here's a list of things I want Apple to design and build. They have the cash, they can do it:

1. A Car: Put the american auto industry back on the map. I want a sedan and an SUV to choose from. All electric.

2. A Space shuttle: Because it would look fantastic ;)

3. A Microwave freezer: Why doesn't this exist yet. Come on! I want 5 second ice and 3 second ice cream. I can think of 100 more uses.

Your first two items have already been done (well, in progress) by Apple's neighbor. Or was that your point?

I'd hate to burst their bubble, but what goes up must come down. Sorry, its the law..

Sorry but with Apple, it won't come down. It will only go up and up and up, with occasional dips like when Steve Jobs died. Lol @ all the people saying how the company stock price will go down when Jobs died. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

So just what do you think the point of running an Apple News site is? Huh? Please enlighten. Only supposed to report news nobody knows or reports anywhere else? Should they check with you first? AAPL just broke $700. Can't get much more "Apple News" than that. I'm an investor and I heard it here first. I come here because it's the ONLY place I need to go for Apple News.

If you can add to this brilliant observation specific predictions about when it will come down, then we will be impressed. For extra points, tell us how much it will come down, and how much money you have riding on it.

2007 will do me fine.

2004 was the year. Back the it was either Nvidia or Aapl but Their product line wasnt going anywhere so I threw my $$ in Nvidia instead. It was about $14 for both. 1000 share from then till now would have been great.

I don't get it. So many people get so excited when their stock rises. Do you own stock or something? If not, what does their stock price get you?

Most of the comments here are from shareholders. Even they don't really care because I'm sure they already saw the number on Nasdaq or something.

They really need to split 3 for 1 so some of us can get in at a reasonable price :) As they're going, it's not like the price won't go right back up anyway...
