I don’t think they have actually. I think it only just came to the S9 plus this year.Looking forward to Android folk going on about how they've had this for years.
Looks like it will be 16 x 9 HD ratio then, and still have room for the notch. A better TV watching experience...
Nobody wants to rotate their iPhone to landscape to use stock apps. I doubt many people do. I have a plus phone and I've completely forgotten about landscape use. But it's a nice software feature to have I guess.
Exactly, this was mist annoying festure during my 6 and 6s plus times, really hated itThat's one thing that I don't miss from the iPhone 6s Plus, coming to an X. I hated it because it's inconsistent and many of the apps UIs are cramped to fit 2 panes. Then you get a landscape homescreen but are stuck with a portrait lockscreen.
It's half-assed and messy. Got myself annoyed more times than not forcing to me to lock orientation more often than I need to, now.
I wish videos automatically played horizontally, the old videos app used to do it now with the tv app you have to turn off rotation lock.I personally don’t like landscape anything. If it was an option I’d turn it off for everything except photos and videos.
Hoping for a feature in iOS where I can choose which apps get landscape or not, perhaps a smart landscape lock of sorts.
Seems obvious it would have it don’t get why this is newsworthy.
What about the 6.1-inch LCD model??
I always found the landscape rotation on the Plus models to be a bit too sensitive.

Give us PIP, or split apps! Sometimes I'm watching a tutorial, and I want to take notes, or go text something, etc. I can't believe this isn't a feature yet...
It’s a still a great size for a phone, except the screen could be full-sized like on the x. I tried the x and I just don’t like the size and form factor. Especially when using a case. It just feels too big for me, personally. So call it dinky, but for some people bigger is not necessarily better...OMG! that iPhone 5 looks so dinky, now!
