Nobody wants to rotate their iPhone to landscape to use stock apps. I doubt many people do. I have a plus phone and I've completely forgotten about landscape use. But it's a nice software feature to have I guess.

I'll counter your sample of 1 proof with my own: I constantly use my Plus in landscape, so that must be how most other people use it too.

It's too small for that.

No it’s not. The iPhone X has a tall 5.8” display, it’s extremely wide in landscape. Having two columns like iPad and the plus models would benefit the iPhone X.

The lack of vertical space just makes the basic iPhone landscape mode cumbersome. It also has more wasted space too.

Just because it doesn’t mention the 6.1” doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not getting landscape mode.

I demand answers.
I read in one of these MacRumors articles that the 6.1" device was rumored to have the same resolution as the current X. So bigger elements, but I doubt they'd give it additional features over the (presumably more expensive) 5.8" device, especially if its using the same resolution.

I didn’t think my request would work so thank you for that!

So it’s safe to assume it won’t feature landscape mode, but it also sounds like the 6.1” will also have a lower PPI as well. Good to know.

This is already a thing on the 6/6s/7/8 plus. I always wondered why it wasn't a thing on the X. I guess this is the answer. They wanted to keep it exclusive to the plus model.

I never had the plus but I can tell you I missed this on my iPhone X I returned yesterday within my 1 days purchase and swapped from 256GB X to iPhone 8 256GB. If I didn't have one from work which I gave to my girl, I'd never know how good the 8 was. The iOS segmentation of basic landscape features really needs to stop. Not including it on the X with such a high resolution is asinine and will upset a LOT of paying customers!!

Expected, but still a welcomed rumor. One of the things I missed most about going from the 7+ to X.

I know right?! The X has a larger resolution screen and hardly any bezels so why not give it the guns to go blazing with?! Arrgh!

It's too small for that.

Hey you ... 'hush your mout!' ... let us dream a little please? hehehe.

I’m happy about getting those “ Plus features” however I hope the resolution will be higher than 458 ppi though.

Can we get Apple Pencil support, split-screen apps, and picture-in-picture?

In a few years probably. If this is true about the plus size model then I am curious to see how this phone will feel in hand. I think this phone will be a bit slimmer and narrow like some of the plus size Samsungs.

Please don't make me buy the bigger phone to get the best camera, features, etc. I went from having Plus models to a X and I much prefer a big screen with a smaller form factor. I do not want a physically larger phone!

Like several others here, I think the X is just about the perfect size.

I really wish they'd add the enhanced landscape support to the X, as well, not just the Plus model :/

Hopefully this one won't randomly unlock to the home screen stuck in landscape like every iPhone Plus I've ever owned did.

Landscape mode is unusable on the current plus-size devices and not sure if it makes sense on even 6.5" device. Unless they optimise the landscape layout for smaller screen sizes.

Still with the ridiculous homebar overlay, jesus put a toggle on it.

Thank goodness exploits exist for iOS 12 already...

Yep, Landscape "things" will cost you $100 more as Apples Greed knows no bounds.

That notch though...

I know lots of people say 'you get used to it' and it isn't a problem. I believe you. I do. But I really think it just screams 'un-Apple like compromise' every time I see it, and seeing it like that in a landscape app mode seems... even worse to me. I just hope they eliminate it as soon as they can.

Good news about more landscape mode though.

I agree. That notch looks horrible.

Landscape has always been on the Plus models, so I’m not surprised by this. I was expecting it. Very believable and so far I’m liking how the X Plus is shaping up. Still got a couple of concerns, though.
