"Truly wireless" is a term of art -- a dumb term, yes, but it has a specific meaning in this context.no, it doesn‘t. try reading the claim with both eyes open.
The loop is a dealbreaker for me. Makes the powerbeats so cumbersome and awkward to put on... Plus it makes the headphones look clunky and awkward in the case as well.

The meaning is "two separate pieces for the left and right ear without a wire connecting them".
So although Beats has three BT headphones for sale today (using W1 chips) all three have a wire between the L and R sides, whether they are "standard" headphone style like Beats Studio or earbuds with a cord joining them, like Beats X.

Ah, if only there were an alternative for you! Something that had clean lines and no loop, perhaps in white?...
Oh well, we can only dream.
Until them, keep up the complaining! It's only by complaining that we know we are truly alive.
Ewwwww how horrible - huge tacky billboards right next to people's homes! I bet little Eddy Cue would be the first to moan if we stuck sh*tty Beats headphones ads on his home!
Very poor taste!
So in a sense, Apple is releasing black AirPods.
The same, but only differentyes, except they aren't airpods.
The same, but only different![]()
Somewhat original now, but it’s probably going to get a little old 5 or 10 years from now.Are they sure they will be released?
Excuse me Sir, Do you have a moment to talk about oxymorons?I like the ear loops. I'm always afraid I'll lose airpods, so I've avoided buying them. But these are a definite maybe.
Not really. The ear hooks are a bit more of a pain to get on when wearing glasses, but its not a problem once you get used to it.Won't these interfere with wearing sun/reading/prescription glasses?
Why would they go to the trouble of designing, manufacturing and marketing something like this when they could just make them another version of the AirPods under their own name with their own (white) look and feel and market them as being as "fun" and "reliable" and having the same exact functions as their regular AirPods? Just get rid of the "Beats" brand and save all the duplication. Must be why I'm not in business.
Because Beats has loyal customers and because this gives Apple opportunity to diversify its product offerings without diluting the AirPods product.
Do you really not know the reach and influence of Beats?
Probably could have just said you don't know the scope and reach of Beats and kept the insulting condescension to yourself. Sorry I asked. Won't do that again. Yeesh.I live in New Mexico. I've seen very few of them. And if the "Beats brand" is now using the same chip as the the "Apple brand" ear buds what difference does it make? I guess they are betting that the Beaters are too dumb to know that Apple owns the company?
Sooo many layers to this.So in a sense, Apple is releasing black AirPods.

yes, except they aren't airpods.
You're right, they aren't. But they do provide key Airpod features to a segment of potential buyers who wished the Airpods were black in color and also noise isolating. They are also a great solution for those whose ears aren't shaped right for Airpods.
Personally I much prefer Airpods because they aren't noise isolating and they are much more compact. The charging case is easily pocketable. They fit great in my ears.
They have different sound profiles and obviously different use-cases. The chip is how the headphones connect to the phone. Also, is the New Mexico bit supposed to suggest something in particular about Beats users?
We're kinda out in the boonies. They just don't seem to be really popular from what I've seen. I live across the street from a college and work there and you do see them here and there, but most of the headphones are I don't know what brand, but not ones with a b on them. Most people walking around campus (like for exercise) are normally just using white-wired earbuds. Don't know what kinds those are.
Have started seen more white wireless buds lately.
