Those are all in house and developed by Apple.
Not clear how that would translate when you have to pay actors/actresses, producers etc. who don’t work directly for Apple.
While they are contracted for the project, they do work for Apple. If you’re talking about royalties, I’m not sure how that works when the content owner is not expecting any direct profits but royalties for actors are rare and I’d assume the money up front will be fantastic to compensate the bigger names associated with the shows.

I'm going to take a wait and see approach with Apple's TV service. Especially if it's going to cost money, I would be very hard pressed to subscribe to yet another another service on top of Netflix, Directv Now, and Amazon. However, if the content is made available for free on iOS and tvOS devices, then that is a different story.

I have yet to hear about any shows Apple is working on that sound intriguing/interesting, so I'm a bit hesitant to say the least. Apple certainly has their work cut out for them.

Not sure why the need for a global rollout. If Apple can overcome rights issues to launch Apple Music day one in 100 countries and push out their own content simultaneously (such as Carpool Karaoke) there really isn’t any reason to delay first party content
There may be legal issues in some countries that prevent it, such as in the U.K., where you have to have a license to watch over the air TV.

I meant with the incoming EU regulations that will force content providers to provide 30% of their content to be local. This will impact Youtube as well.
I can’t imagine Apple setting thag much production or investment in any small eu country.

This supposed free content is weird. Obviously apple wants to sell more hardware or find additional revenue. But you can’t track sales based on having this tv stuff. It’s not very apple. This isn’t exactly the same or as essential as free OS upgrades that your new hardware requires.

But even a Netflix only thrives while offering its service on as many platforms as possible. Something apple only? Apples devices are a fraction of what Netflix is offered on. Even then Netflix probably needs to keep slowly increasing its sub just to have enough content.

Without a sub which would be a hard sell, this will be an expense for apple. Maybe even with a sub it’s a loser. It feels more like an experiment. Cook pulling a string to see if it goes anywhere. I can’t help but think they should be doing other things instead that they have more control over and is more in their wheelhouse. Not a car. And not this.

Why wouldn't they approach this service like iCloud? A free tier for every Apple customer (the service will likely require the use of an Apple device), and extra-cost tiers for more than basic coverage. Perhaps more than basic for Apple Music subscribers, at no extra cost.
