Just put the fingerprint sensor on the side button. Then you can have a all screen 16:9 display. Is it really that difficult?
iPhones are too thin for a fingerprint sensor on the side. Placing one on the back would make sense. A lot of android phones have fingerprint sensors on the back, which I find much easier to use than the front sensor. I just brought a phone (Ulefone Power 2) with a front fingerprint sensor. It sucks having to use both hands to reliably use the sensor. On the plus side, it's got a 6050mhA battery:cool:, but it weighs nearly 1/2 pound with protective case (210g without).

Does this mean the camera downgrades itself when the battery starts losing capacity?

"Kuo unsurprisingly expects Apple will use these technologies to continue increasing iPhone battery capacities in 2019 and 2020, as it routinely does, which should result in even longer battery life for future models."

My iPhone 6s begs to differ with that statement.

Creates a larger notch, requires you to hold the phone to your face (at the right distance and with your face unobstructed), slower than Touch ID at this stage, now more demanding on the battery. I think under display fingerprint sensors as well or instead would be better, at least on iOS devices (FaceID is without a doubt the future on Mac).

Will that bigger battery will still last you all day without knowing that battery is already in bad shape despite you buying an Apple Care. So this is a good news right!?

Higher capacity does not always mean it can deliver more Amps, it does last longer though.
A 4.2volt 5C rated 500mah battery can put out 2.5 amps of current. A larger 4.2 volt 5 C 800mah battery can put out 4 amps of current. So capacity can easily raise the amount of power a lipo battery can put out. In addition, it allows much more margin as the battery wears out which, in theory would prevent throttling as the battery ages.

If a larger battery is required to compensate for power hungry parts I hope they figure out a way to keep weight at bay. For a phone the X is fairly heavy already. It was fairy striking holding my X in one hand and my 7 in the other.

Entry model? The X is the flagship. Flagship products are typically the most expensive in a product's line up. If you want a plus sized phone w/ the "regular" LED screen then you want whatever replaces the 8, not the X.

Entry Model of their latest i meant as in the smallest configuration. Obviously the latest is going to be the most expensive but that used to be 649€ for an iPhone 6 than 749€ for an iPhone 7 and now 1.149€ by the iPhone X ... those good old times of „only“ paying 650€ for the latest iPhone. Sigh

This seems oddly specific.
I would love to see a bigger battery however historically when it comes to adding features Apple tends to just leave features out if it means increasing the size. Even with the larger cameras they chose to just bump them rather then increasing the overall thickness.

Yep, as power increases, so does batteries... A sad fact of life... but oh well..

I'm just waiting for that microscopic circuit board u need a magnify glass to see and 90% of battery.

We're getting there.. Few more years to go :D

Perhaps one day Apple will realise that lack of battery life is sufficient to justify larger batteries.... #ThinThisNot

Yes, but will the camera continue to protrude as much and still have such weirdly sharp edges? One can only hope, Jony!

I doubt they will do an x plus tbh.

I have to disagree with you. Apple
Is only going to expand the iPhone X lineup and the next step is adding a larger variant of the iPhone X. It's been heavily rumored that a 6.5 iPhone X Plus is due in 2018. For me, that's exactly what I have been looking for. But undoubtedly I believe this will happen.

RP, Disagree with your entire post. You demand facts and verification - yet you provide a link, which is only a rumour. Oh the irony.

Lucky me I'm on a 2 year contract so I'll get the X3 when they get their kinks out and updated tech.

Unless its called the iPhone X2S Pro Ceramic Edition Mini Plus.

If they already need to throttle 1 year old devices to keep battery life at a reasonable level, I don't hold much confidence for future models. Until they changes their way of thinking that a slow phone is better than one with poor battery life, I won't be spending £1000+ on something that in a year may only have 30-50% of the performance it has new.

This whole topic is getting out of hand. Yes, the feature is enabled on iPhone 7, but that does not mean that it's impacting that model yet. Are there real-world reports of 7 being slowed down? Or is the feature merely in place for when the batteries in the 7 start to degrade?

People are going bat-crazy over this and forgetting that Apple has their best interests at heart. A slower phone is way better than one that suddenly dies for no apparent reason. Where Apple failed was not communicating clearly enough that replacing an aged battery will restore full device performance again. Because today's internet population needs simple facts shoved into their faces before they finally get a clue and stop spewing unfounded anger around the social web.

That's just guessing on your part, those numbers you mention are just made up by you.

5C is a lot, I have original Panasonic 18650 cells 3400 mAh, maximum current is less than 5 Amps, so less than 1C.

You also didn't read my post, I said "Higher capacity does not always mean it can deliver more Amps, it does last longer though." so I didn't say it can't raise current.

It's crazy that there are rumors of the 2019 iPhone X that I will likely purchase that year to replace my iPhone X that is not even two months old.

Since it's confirmed Apple slows down old iPhone due to battery wear -- and since you can't pay them to replace a degraded battery unless they consider defective I guess I'll be paying in 2019 unless I try another Android phone.
I read that Apple won't accept people paying to have their battery replaced by Apple from folks on this site but it is hard to believe. If it is true, believe me that there are other businesses that will install a new battery for you and do it for less, as one poster wrote. Maybe, Apple is trying to save you money because they believe, based on their tests, your battery is fine. The haters would say something like, Apple doesn't make enough in profit to make it worth it from them. Apple doesn't want to cut into their margins if they don't have to.
Either way people, if you want a new battery in your phone there is someone out there happy to take your money and get that done for you.

I honestly just take whatever Kuo says with a grain of salt, ever since he "predicted" that iPhone X won't be widely available until early 2018, and basically makes tonnes of predictions - Surely one of them would eventuate!

I dunno, I just got the iphone X a couple of weeks ago and the experience has been flawless so far, I'm a heavy user but I still have around 30% battery at the end of the day, face id has proved to be much better than I ever expected and I was really skeptical until I actually owned the phone and began to rely on it, now I can't even imagine going back to touch id.

But this is just my own personal opinion, I replaced a Samsung S8+ and the iphone has been a huge upgrade for me.

This nonsense/complications would not exist if Apple kept it simple by just sticking with Touch ID. If other manufacturers succeed with fingerprint sensor under the screen then Apple should follow and offer us that with bigger batteries.
