I would selfishly like the Ultra to get smaller.Apple Watch Ultra 2 looks to be the most intriguing product in this reported bunch.
I suspect Apple will aggressively try to remove all lightning options in the line up, and focus on USB C going forward. But will the Lightning case be kept as an option?

Even Samsung doesn’t put 3.0 on anything but its most expensive phones. I think you severely over estimate how much the average person plugs their phone in for the purpose of data transfer. So they sell expensive USB-C cables, but non-pro iPhones only get USB 2.0, which came when many forum members were not even born yet. That was seven years before the iPhone without a number was released. USB 2.0 is so slow, that on notebook you only use it for a cabled mousse or maybe a USB powered fan.
But they'll need to get rid of the stock. So I somehow suspect (some) lightning products will be available for another year and then Apple will discontinue them completely for USB-CI suspect Apple will aggressively try to remove all lightning options in the line up, and focus on USB C going forward.
Nah. That's not true. S23 is not the most expensive phone. S23 Ultra is. Yet S23 has USB 3. S10, S22, S21 as well...Even Samsung doesn’t put 3.0 on anything but its most expensive phones. I bet this is not going to happen.I hope the AirPods Pro 2 case will be available as a standalone purchase, for people who wants to move to USB-C without buying a whole new set of AirPods
I think there’s three assumptions that folk around here make all the time.Even Samsung doesn’t put 3.0 on anything but its most expensive phones. I think you severely over estimate how much the average person plugs their phone in for the purpose of data transfer.

They don't sell separate replacement case for AirPods Pro now.
Why would they do this now? Out of a good heart? To help their customers save some money? To save the environment as they claim? Naaah. We're talking about Apple.
That's true. But not for AirPods Pro. They know people who can afford Pro will just buy a whole new USB-C version altogether (with the earphones as well). To make more money. They do sell a wireless charging case separately for Airpods that don’t/didn’t have it. They just ask a lot of money for it. So it’s not impossible.
I have a pair of OG AirPod pro and use wireless charging. Much easier to just plop the case on the pad than to fumble the cable in. Ditto for the phone. Only using the cable for CarPlay.I hope the AirPods Pro 2 case will be available as a standalone purchase, for people who wants to move to USB-C without buying a whole new set of AirPods
