Definitely not the same 3 I have on my device.

Maybe its just me, but sure don't see the hype about the AR stuff at this point. Trying to view them was one of the most frustrating electronic experiences I've had in the Apple world, and I live with the 2 Apple ID situation!
Fellow member of the 2 Apple ID club....I feel your pain.

Awwwwwww...the AR...what a bright future is waiting for us ?
The culprit is Steven Spielberg for making the movie Ready Player One.
When the CEO's of our beloved tech companies listened that the creator
of Oasis has made half a trillion dollars, they went nuts. Didn't care that was
just a movie. That's how the modern AR/VR race started.
Wow, this is one funny post.

my first experience with VR was in the early 1990s where someone had developed a system based on twin Amiga 3000s and was showing it in shopping centres where you could try it out for a fee. The graphics were obviously limited, but it certainly provided a taste of the future.

At least someone is using the AR....hopefully the tech catches on in a big way someday. But so far has not been that useful or impressive.

There are millions upon millions if folks that don’t see and will never see the hype about AR stuff, so you’re definitely not alone.

Maybe Apple AR/VR will be able to give us a clear picture of the screenshots. Apple knows this world needs it bad. :)
The view depends on the ambient light the camera infers, quite clever how Apple does that actually :) If you try it in a darkened room, seeing the reflection would actually be more difficult.

The 33rd annual Worldwide Developers Conference is set to begin with a keynote next Monday, and the event is now featured on Apple's dedicated Events website. As with many Apple events, if you visit the page on an iPhone or iPad, you can see an interactive augmented reality easter egg.

wwdc-trading-cards.jpg

For WWDC 2022, Apple has created a package of trading cards that you can view in augmented reality. Once placed on a surface using the AR interface, you can tap the pack of cards to open it up and see an array of colorful Memoji faces.

Tapping on one of the available cards flips it around so you can see the Memoji character in more detail, and if you swipe it, you can go back to the cards to view the other options. Each time you open the card pack, you will get three separate cards, and there are at least nine card options. This is one of the more detailed interactive AR experiences that Apple has designed for one of its events, as many have only featured creative Apple logos.

To see the AR easter egg, open up the Events website and tap on the Memojis. From there, you can scan the area around you to see the card pack in action, or you can view it in "Object" mode to get a clearer picture of what it looks like without having to navigate your physical environment.

WWDC 2022 will kick off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Monday, June 6. In addition to being streamed on YouTube, the event can be watched through the events webpage and in the Apple TV app. If you're unable to watch, you can tune in to the MacRumors live blog on the site or follow along with our MacRumorsLive Twitter account.

The event will see the introduction of new software, including iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13, and tvOS 16, plus there is a possibility that we could see new hardware like the MacBook Air.

Who the hell is Apple's customer anymore I want to know because it seems like they're focusing on children with these things and people that live in some kind of fantasy world I don't understand this at all.

Yeah the implementation was a joke. Cards are too small on my iPhone 12 mini to view and I’m pretty close to the ground or standing. Cannot zoom in via center of the screen.

There is a workout app for iPhone Pros or iPad Pros with LIDAR that uses LiDAR for body mechanics movement. Tracking in real time the movement and recording and advising of the proper movement.

Bench press curls squats etc. very useful actually. And no fluff.

I believe it’s called Iron Path?

There looks to be 26 different usdz files, not sure if they’re all 3 different cards, but each group I’ve looked at so far is different. Downloading them all.

Very likely folks that will be buying devices for, maybe, the next 50 years or so.

I would say vastly earlier movies than that one, but yeah, I still find this stuff pointless for the near future. *insert grumpy old man emoji here*

You can’t pinch to zoom? I’ve ‘put’ them in the floor and just zoomed in. I’ve also put them on a table and a bed in front of me. You will have to move the phone around to catch them in the viewport. Best seen in AR view instead of object view.

Exact same thing as I did. Placed on the floor and pinch to zoom. The cards after tapped to open on up rise to the very top of the screen regardless of the angle I’m holding my iPhone.

I’ve moved around and both AR and object view the latter seemed better. Have the card is out of view. Also I did that initial move your iPhone around ina. Square for the AR to begin.

The “object” view centers the view on where the cards are sitting on the simulated surface so when they fly up they’re cut off. For me, the AR view allows me to tilt the phone to bring the card into view. Oh well, just a toy, nothing much to see here :)

This further proves how underwhelming AR still is. Apple, please don’t rush into this.
Don't rush?
For us to see a finished product, it means Apple probably worked on this tech design for many years!

AR has been used in wide range of commercial and medical environments for a long time. This isn't new tech. For example, cardiothoracic surgeons routinely use assistive AR in various types of surgeries.
