How..does..anybody..come up..with that..?

Like..someone just randomly decided "LET'S STRETCH THIS IMAGE YA'LL!"

Just how? It's a serious question.

I think this is evidence that each launch page will only have one row of icons, but that each row will be very tall. Icons that aren't updated will be stretched to 5x their ordinary height.

Psh, this is evidence of a 3-story iPhone.

People wanted a bigger screen, and they're getting one.

Weird. If this really is pointing to a "streched display".....just seems like bad marketing.

Notice what the 3 icons are too. Rumors were just had about a Pandora like service and 2 of the 3 icons are music related.

I always wanted the oversized display iPhone and iPad models at the Apple stores to be real.

Game Center fits in there how?

Of course, speculation on the reason for the stretched icons points to the long-running rumors that Apple will be introducing a taller iPhone with a 4" diagonal screen.

Is this English class or something? This is a pretty neat discovery, but I wish there was some real news.

I don't know... I think someone's kind of "stretching" here. ;) Am I right? Right? *Gets shot for horrible pun*

Game center isn't in the rumor mill as anything big, but the event is going to have more than new iphone and pandora like ideas.

Why does Apple bother having these events anymore? By the time the building is set up, we know everything about the upcoming iPhone and more :)

Apple would do something like this. Attention to detail, small or large. Just gotta wait and see if the iPhone 5 leaks we have seen are indeed true.

Maybe someone said, "We should try subliminal messaging to get iOS deep into the viewers' minds. Hey, it's worth a shot."

.Edit: Better than MR's distorted picture, just look at the original picture from edge on (IE: open the image on an iOS device and put the charging port to your nose. Adjust the angle until you can perfectly make out the icon.)

Doing it this way I think I can see the safari icon in the lower half of the color swath to the immediate right of the Apple logo. I think the green top of that stripe may be the messages icon, too.

Funny—I just assumed that these were stretched app icons from the start. Guess I should have said something earlier. It seemed fairly obvious to me, but I have a background in visual communication and design. I didn't think to pop it into PS, however. Nice find guys. Kind of funny how people still can't see it—even in the edited version.

It would be great if Apple brought out the new iPhone, but the UI was just stretched vertically so that everything, such as icons, are elongated. They could pretend like everything is normal and it's the best thing ever to give all of us (especially designers) heart attacks.

Sure you did
