I always wondered whether the fluffy lining of this product would shed into openings in the MBP. That would not be a good thing.

Get over yourself. Watch the youtube videos, read the threads here, they are basically all positive.

Ha ha, me? Get over myself? Was I the one who created a thread because I made a purchase that I was unhappy with and began blaming people for giving good reviews even though I'm unhappy that I made a poor decision? NO. I wonder who did that??
Of course you miss the point. If you looked on Youtube you'd see the crappy sac in action and you'd see that it's made of soft material and not strong enough to withstand bumps and grinds. Do you need people to tell you that? You can see it with your own eyes. :p

Another self-righteous apple fan boy, just what this thread needed.

this is crazy I just bought 2 colcasacs from them and they fit fine.

i am not going to use this to pretend it will protect it. Its a sleeve....replacement.

I think they look awesome and they are very snug on my MBA and mbp 17

I had no delusions that the applesac would protect my mbp from a fall or impact. I was expecting it to provide scratch protection and to cushion it from things inside of my bad. It is the lack of cushioning that I am not pleased with.

I thought I would let others know that based on the other things i've read, the applesacs had ample cushioning. I'm now saying that they have very little cushioning and that buyers should know this.

If you check out the youtube reviews, one of them even states that it has MORE padding than he expected, and that the fleece was very thick. So that is why I was not expecting how thin it is.

What does being an Apple fanboy (or fangirl) have to do with a third-party product. I hate Speck, who primarily makes product for Apple; I love Incase, who primarily makes products for Apple. I fail to see how me being a fanboy has anything to do with one or you.

well I love my Applesac products

they fit snuggly on both of my machines, look great and I feel they provide the expected protection that I was seeking which is to protect from scratches around my place and when I travel.

I've had my black :apple:sac for about 4 months now and I'm very satisfied with it. The fleece does not leave anything on the machine at all.

The inside of the applesac do have that sharp fold inside on the sides, but that doesn't scratch.

Nice, I think I might pick up the black one just for light carrying from place to place (that's not school). It's gets another plus for being able to fit the charger as well!

don't be so childish sacDonalds

i fairly sure that 99% of the cases out there will never protect your laptop from damage like dents, cracks, and so forth. Yes some will protect more than others but sleeves aren't meant to be the sole protection of your laptop.

i have the original applesac and i get compliments on it all the time after they ask me what is in it, thus i like the fact most people can't even tell there is a laptop in it. Burlap and canvas are highly durably and provide adequate protection, while the inside is soft and snug securing and protecting your laptop.

find them fantastic and the all around best sleeve, its also called an opinion, so don't go crazy because you disagree.

Zeroshock Zeroshock Zeroshock

As MR now knows, I sold my 13" MB UNI and retreated to a 12" Powerbook.

I have my Zeroshock cases for both of them.

THEY HAVE SAVED MY COMPUTERS MANY MANY MANY TIMES.

The Zeroshock II is especially great if you can find it. Has internal frame for more edge protection. Have it on the 12" PB. But the Zeroshock for the Macbook is killer, too.

Those thin flimsey things of thin foam? I got one with the used powerbook.

Useless.

uhh, i suggest getting something a bit more robust for protection. that applesac thing is not for protection. its just a nice looking bag. something like this should be good.

Why would anybody buy this crap?

Seriously, I just can't imagine why anyone would pay for something that looks like it was sewn by some hippies at a commune.

You are trying too hard to look like you don't care.

Ha ha! I feel the same way as you do.
I thought it always looked cheaply put together.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the Tom Bihn "Brain Cell".

Corrugated plastic shell and 2 types of high density memory foam. And they fit in backpacks. More of a "soft case", but the best protection short of a Zero Halliburton. ;)

You probably do not understand why people wear different clothes either.

If it was up to you everyone would wear jeans and a white shirt?

its called choice in style.

That Zeroshock III case looks sweet, I ordered one, going to see what its like when it arrives.

(+1). If it were someone looking to buy it for serious protection they yeah I'll agree with you, why would anyone buy this crap. But for something strictly to carry around as a bag and for style, how are you going to question their motives and style?

I think this thread has quite clearly established that sleeves like this aren't designed for all-out protection, just to guard against scratches and scuffs. If you are planning to put your macbook (pro) into a bag, you'll need to make sure you don't put stuff that would dent the aluminium if the sleeve wasn't there in the bag, because the sleeve offers no protection from force.

We have also established that some people are so far up their own asses they can't appreciate other peoples choices or opinions.

P.s I'm still planning on buying the black one for my new MBP

Just my 2 cents (or maybe 4 or so)
