[doublepost=1478084547][/doublepost]Go into settings, iTunes Store, Location, and change your location to Namibia. Back out of settings, go back in and change it back to US. It will restore all the apps.

Nov2 2016 this actually worked!!! Change the iTunes Store location setting to Namibia. Got all apps back lol how do people figure this out

This happened to us yesterday, I tried the change of location thing but only a few (lame) apps came back up and Netflix. Hulu and hbo go won't show up. When I did a reset all the apps disappeared again and it went back to the screen with computer and settings as the only option. Is this because of an update?

Same thing happened to me. Can't get it to update/refresh. Lost ESPN, Hulu, HBO apps... really hoping this isn't Apple's way of bullying us into buying the latest model.

Just happened to me yesterday as well! HAS to be some kinda bug!

Go to settings, iTunes Store ,location, change location to Namibia all apps will return, change location back to U.S

I got Hulu back but still trying to get it to work. The only way I figured out was knowing Hulu is only available in Japan and U.S so I changed my iTunes Store location to Japan and Hulu came back but can't get it to go to sign in screen

Same thing here. No Hulu no HBO go No Fox apps, just Netflix and some other random stuff. At least I know it's not just me.

I got Hulu back because I know Hulu is only available in Japan and US so I changed my iTunes Store location to Japan, got a few apps back including Hulu

Same ish here. reset, unplugged, full restore, unplugged router. Nothing. Didn't get to read this thread until now at work. Will try when tonight to change the location settings and hope it works. In general my ATV is terrible. It turns off randomly about once every other day while watching.

Thanks for the hints on this thread. Everything is there, except for my TV shows and HBO. Any clues on how to get those back while waiting for another iTunes update?

Same here. Switching locales all arpund the world seemed to help, still missing apps and some linger from japan, namibia, canada.

The language did work for me, but also only have a handful of apps. I'm glad I am not the only one experiencing this. The past couple months my ATV would just shut off watching Netflix and restart. I thought it was Apple's way of telling me it's time to upgrade.

This happened last night to us as well. The Namibia or other country helps some, but I have not been able to find one that fits best. Problem it seems to reset f you restart.
I am glad I read this about location setting as i Am not sure where my original remote is and not sure if resetting/process without original remote has improved. The bump process for network settings has not worked for me in past (it might be only work on a revision that came after I bought mine but not sure). To have done all that and still have issues would have been very aggravating.

Worked partially. Some of my apps like ESPN are still missing. I literally have half the menu I normally do. #ATV3
This worked partially for me too but still missing apps (hulu). Mine choked last night. Tried all the suggested fixes. Really frustrating. What would have caused it to happen to a bunch of people at once?

All of a sudden last night the interface on my AppleTV blinked for a second and then all my menu options were gone except for "settings" and "computer".

I reset it, unplugged the cables, changed from wifi to ethernet and back, etc. The network test runs fine.

The only thing that would fix it was doing a full restore - then everything came back but as soon as I turned on iTunes match it all disappeared again.

I'm doing another restore now in the hopes I can get the other options back again, and I'll avoid turning on iTunes match until the next software update but its annoying.

Anyone else having this issue or have any advice? I kind of wish I had just stayed on the last major version of the AppleTV software - I don't even like the new interface and it used to always work solidly. If I could roll back to a previous version I would happily do so.
[doublepost=1478096848][/doublepost]I have 2 ATV's and neither of them have the apps showing. Tried all suggestions and still have no apps showing, except "computers" and "settings." - If anyone figures this out, please let us know. Thx!

THIS LITERALLY JUST HAPPENED TO ME.

It kicked me off of Netflix randomly and now everything is missing except for Music, Computers, and Settings. I've restarted it several times, restarted my router, and I even restored my Apple TV. Still nothing. Is this just some sort of glitch with apple? Or am I missing something here?

I have the exact same thing in Phoenix AZ too! Saw the picture you posted and mine is identical.

I'll read through and see if I can get it back, I did a full restore last night to no avail.

I did this, and it mostly worked. However, one of the apps I most frequently used, WATCH ESPN, hasn't come back. I've done everything I can think of but it won't return.

And oddly, if I restart my AppleTV all the apps disappear again and I have to re-do the iTunes Store Location and move all my apps again.

What a pain.

JUST got off the phone with Apple support. They got a notice about 3 minutes ago that we should all look for an update within the next 30 minutes which should solve be problem.

[doublepost=1478100275][/doublepost]This works:) Just need to change your DNS to manual IP address listed in this video. It will return all the apps and then you can set it back to automatic.

Thank you, this worked perfectly

I just did a reset and nothing changed from before the reset. This is very frustrating.

Thank you! After changing to Namibia, then Japan, then US nothing worked. Finally tried changing DNS and restart as shown in the video, and everything works now! Netflix wouldn't work until I changed DNS back to auto and then it was fine. Thanks again!

Just came home and turned on my ATV's. Had it set to auto-update and it looks like Apple's latest update fixed the issue on my end, here in CT. Thanks everyone for your input! Much appreciated...!

Just went home at lunch and the aforementioned Apple update worked! I'm in South Dakota. Last night and this morning I was going insane. I tried everything, including restoring to factory settings. This is much better!
