Can't believe we're just two weeks out from the AVP release. I'm super hyped, haven't been this excited for anything in ages, maybe iPhone 1’s release!? What about you guys? What was the last thing that had you on the edge of your seat at this level? Or is it just me😃

I’m in the UK so can’t buy one and I probably wouldn’t get the first one anyway, but I think the device is really cool and look forward to trying one in future.

I didn’t follow it that closely until now. watching the introduction video today I do feel like we’re at a really amazing level with consumer technology today. This is definitely something to get excited about for sure. 😁

It's going to be an excruciating 2 week wait.

Usually when I preorder, the launch day is 1 week out.

This wait is going to stress me out!
I couldn't agree more. Getting a new phone used to be exciting but not so much anymore. New MacBook nope, new iPad nope, even a new car (though I do have an early reservation on a CyberTruck😁). It is going to be a very long two weeks.

MacOS and the iPhone launch were much more exciting, and much more widespread.
Yes, but that's because it appealed to the masses at a much lower price point.

This launch is a first of its kind for Apple.

Normal to have skeptical people since there hasn't been any reviews, no YT influencers, nor further updates since the keynote.

I'm skeptical too but will see when I have it delivered 13 more days.

I'm waiting for a generation or two. I'm not an early adopter, and always let others try things out and report back before I hop on.

Gotcha!

I am always the first try out new tech - always been like that all my life.

When I was young, my dad bought the first color TV in my entire town and the first VCR (BetaMax).

I think that's why I am what I am...

Or is it just me

This.

I'm not skeptical, assuming it will fail, or anything of the sort as the True Believers™ constantly like to accuse those who aren't jumping up and down like an amphetamine-addled monkey over every little move Apple makes. I'm curious to see what early adopters think, curious to see where it might fit into my workflow (if at all), and maybe at some point in the future I'll buy one. Or, I won't. Like any product, I buy it when I'm ready to buy it when I've defined what it can do for me. Practical—I try not to apply emotions to any situation that involves me being separated from a great big quantity of money.

I find nothing particularly exciting about the Vision Pro launch. While Apple has clearly built an impressive device, they have (thus far) failed to make it feel exciting or revolutionary. The use cases they demoed during launch were all predictable and obvious. More time was spent detailing gimmicky effects than demonstrating what real world advantages this product brings to the user, much less how Vision Pro accomplishes <insert task here> better than other computing devices.

Vision Pro looks like an amazing media consumption device. Whether it's comfortable enough to wear for hours on end remains to be seen. But what other advantages does it really offer? The ability to litter one's surroundings with app windows? I'm sure there are a handful of (disorganized) "power users" out there who relish the thought of dozens of windows everywhere, but the other 99% don't care.

I understand being into tech and needing a shiny new bauble fix. That's what I see on these forums. Most of the people who are very excited about Vision Pro seem to just be excited because it's something new, not because it solves a problem. I'll get excited when I see a new way of doing something that is radically better than how I do things today. Where does Vision Pro fit in my Apple quiver? What does it do better than my other devices? Right now Apple has not given me any compelling reason to buy one.

I've said this before and I'll say it again...I think all of this AR/VR stuff looks great in sci-fi movies, but I'm not convinced that such devices really offer many real world advantages over existing devices. Outside of some very specific use cases (and it remains to be seen whether any of them make their way to Vision Pro), the rest feels quite gimmicky to me.

Can’t wait for every “influencer” to proclaim it the greatest device ever.

Never do they bother to mention they’re paid to promote it.

Little excitement for me - beyond most people’s wallets in this economy.
