So RunKeeper is updated, but apparently it needs background app refresh to be turned on in order to work properly... Before the upgrade it worked anyway.
If anything that article seems to say (and pretty early too) that Wednesday is a more popular release day compared to Thursday. So, pretty much as I figured, more of a myth than anything truly real.I've never said most updates roll out on Thursdays.

It didn't for me, I had to turn on app refresh in order for it to work properly.

Whatever the technicality might be, it still means that Wednesday would be more popular as far as the apps the article looks at.How odd... Well, if I've understood what BAR is, activating it for RunKeeper shouldn't change anything what so ever, right? It'll just work like before, no more data or gps usage than in iOS 6?

Did you read the following sentence as well?
"In reality, whats happening is that developers are scheduling releases for midnight (0:00) on Thursday, and because apps get released at that time worldwide, which winds up being 11pm eastern in North America due to the Atlantic Time Zone, these apps start appearing on Wednesday."
YouTube been given an update for iOS 7 compatibility. But no visual changes.
And you still can't delete comments, reply to comments, choose the quality you want, or check your inbox. Wonderful.

Having said all that, it still seems to be within what developers decide to do as far as releasing or updating their apps. So, they might decide to do it on Thursday or Wednesday for one reason or another, or they might not. One particular company looking at some subset of statistics doesn't necessarily imply that it's some sort of a set standard (like let's say typical Tuesday releases for movies/music media, or typical Friday releases for movies in the theaters, or even Patch Tuesday for OS/software updates at least by Microsoft).
I was curious if this was really a "thing", as one of the earlier posts about it implied, like those Tuesday movie/music releases, Friday theater releases, Patch Tuesday, etc. that were mentioned. It doesn't really appear to be, at least not to that level. My previous tip to you stand: Google and you'll find out more about it.
It's not a set standard, and developers can choose to release their apps whenever they want. But saying Wednesday is more popular when the reason is a time zone difference is just silly.
Believe it or not, but you clearly have your mind made up, so I don't really understand why you even asked. I'm out.
The new youtube update broke my What To Watch
It wasn't working for me on the previous version before I updated to the new YouTube app. So it may be a server-side issue?
FB messenger update is out.....but not for iOS 7..... :|
I'm not a designer or anything close to it, but i gave it a shot with the grid system.
Edit: I don't know why on the iPhone screenshot it looks like there is a white glow on the border, it shouldn't be there.
That's beautiful.
Holy sith. Sounds like the MSN hell all over again. What is this, the 90s?In my country (The Netherlands), Whatsapp is a standard. People don't text each other, they Whatsapp each other. There is even an officially accepted verb for it: Whatsappen. Even in business people Whatsapp each other. The carriers destroyed SMS years ago with absurd tariffs and Whatsapp was the only alternative in the rise of the app stores, so the switch was very easy and quick for everyone.
So, it's very simple... in many countries where literally everyone uses Whatsapp, you can't just go on and use another app, because you will be very lonelyI would love for everyone to use something different, but I have over 200 contacts in Whatsapp and convincing them (and their friends) is not done.
The biggest thing I see fixed in the YouTube update is that the voice search works now. With the previous version it crashed when it tried accessing the microphone.
Do I have your permission to repost this on blogs and other pages? Need to find a way to get it to go viral. Even if they don't use it, maybe they can make something like it.
