One of the more "fun" apps I have updated today. Not something I even remember having on my phone, but its new look does look nice. They hit all the big parts of the iOS 7 design as they presented in the WWDC design conference. Keeping with the iOS transparency theme, simple icon designs, and they even brought parallax into the picture. Pretty fun. Can't wait to see more of my daily apps get their updates. :apple:

Sweet! I love the transit times update... HUGE improvment!! Now they just need to make a decent icon.. Or at least loose the red app lable.. Kind of pointless :/

P.s. What is that little calandrr on the top left.. I dont have that???

They use the background APIs available from iOS 6 though.

I think he's right actually. I am meaning background APIs which were not available in iOS 6 - e.g. a Twitter client that stays up to date while in background (though what a battery drain that would be?)

Airbnb - Updated: 26 August 2013 - Nope, not using iOS 7 backgrounding.
Ancestry - Updated: 13 September 2013. Yep, could well be.
AutoTrader - Updated: 24 June 2013. Nope.
Google Maps - Updated: 28 August 2013. Nope.
MapMyRide - Updated: 06 September 2013. Nope.
SatNav2 - Updated: 29 October 2012. Nope.
TVCatchup - Updated: 29 June 2013. Nope.
Waze - Updated: 28 August 2013. Nope.

Yes, they may all have background services; no, they're not all taking advantage of new iOS 7 background APIs.

Unless there's something I've missed, please apologise for calling me an idiot, pod4g.

They've been allowed to release their API's for a while now. Get off your high horse.

Actually no they haven't. Apple has to approve the apps and wouldn't until at least the GM was released.

Which was earlier this week. Hardly 'a while now'

And really does this shock anyone. The app count in the store is six digits and they will want everything updated at least for basic compatibility ASAP. So why not start now and have a week of lead time.

I didn't make any other claim other than the apps I listed all appear in the iOS 7 Background App Refresh section.

Yep you're right, and I simply said most of them are only using iOS 6 APIs.

I took it a bit further in defending that because a now banned user called me an idiot for saying that :)

I wonder how fast apple will update its apps. I don't expect any until the 18th... Wonder if we will even get any for launch.

Can we try and get a list of all the new apps on one page. So that we all don't have scroll trough a hundreds of posts looking for updated apps?

Every other time, the app updates have come within an hour of the OS release.

Also for non-Apple apps, I think developers can specify what date they want submitted apps to be released so many will probably choose the 18th.
