While it looks like it might not be today, there's nothing that says they can't make a press release later in the day. It is April Fool's day after all, and I bet they're loving making us geeks sweat.

Exactly! I mean, some places in the US probably aren't even awake yet. Steve's probably lying in bed laughing at our frustration.
It can be later, it CAN! (please say it can. I can't wait another weekend.) :(

There is always tomrrow :p

Tiger Woods/Apple item

Whoever wrote that article (if not real) had better stand-by for a law suit. Tiger Woods protects his image like no other and more so with his Foundation. This could have impact on stock prices and his reputation if bogus. There is no indicatation other than the click on the writer that the article is an April Fools spoof. Steve Job's would also not take lightly to this.

"IF" Thinksecret got this part of the rumour wrong...then the late April release date is probably wrong too.....So we'll see Tiger between now and WWDC.

But it is still VERY early on the west coast :D

Great April Fool's stunts

The ESPN aluminum gag several years ago was the funniest I had ever seen. ESPN had a story "announcing" that the Major Leage owners had voted to allow aluminum bats. There were interviews from pitchers and hitters and totally had me fooled.

I also remember NPR doing a bit about having corporate logos tatooed on your ear lobes for lifetime discounts. Gap on one ear, Apple on the other. I remember the reporter's name on the story was Lirpa Loof.

You know what, i think they should make an announcement that there will be NO announcement today, if that is the case. It's the only decent thing to do. Don't they know what this is DOING to us?

What a sad sign of the times when people have to be reminded that on April 1st we may see AFD news stories.

Have people really become so stupid?

Yes, and worse!

Its 4:35pm GMT... I hope everyone is aware that it's bad luck to play an April Fools Day joke after midday?

They aren't doing this to us, Thinksecret is. Apple isn't responsible for what websites say.

Aarrgghhh!!! I just fell for an AFD prank... The staff at the elementary campus conspired to start calling at random times this morning to report computer failure which led me to believe we had a virus attack of some sort. (Windows shop, of course)

The good news is now I can go home early and say I thought any other help calls were AFD jokes as well...
