I don't believe it's as taboo as many other people believe. Meet people wherever you want. My cousin met her husband in a chartroom; they celebrated 10 years recently and have five beautiful children. Another cousin just got married; they met on a forum dedicated to music.
Then make this thread an anonymous poll, and don't require that the girls post to be counted, just to satisfy your curiosity.
You've been here long enough to know how to do that.
I believe once upon a time, there were two MR members who met here and got married and have children now.

I am female, and this is one of the very few times I have admitted to such on these forums. I simply don't believe it's an important factor in most discussion.

I simply prefer to remain "one of the guys," instead of running around screaming "omg I'm a girl" in my signature and using some cutesy username like KittenAppleFanGirlExtremez, all while using the avatar of a sparkly My Little Pony.

but have been totally obsessed with Macs for years.......Hubby always chuckles about his "Computer Geek" wife. Him and our friends know, if there is a 'puter problem, or a network to be set up, I am the one they call, not him.

I'm a girl too. I think Alaerian has it right - I don't feel the need to make a point of it or have people treat me any differently than they would assuming I were male.
