I don't have a lot of female friends who are into computers and stuff, so I was thinking, how many girls use MacRumours?

    I'm just interested :)

There are many. Some don't care to flaunt it, because it's fairly irrelevant.

There are plenty actually. Some you can easily tell by their posts, some require some thinking.

You will not get an accurate number, but it is a fair few. Primarily male dominated, but that's just to be expected.

I don't believe it's as taboo as many other people believe. Meet people wherever you want. My cousin met her husband in a chartroom; they celebrated 10 years recently and have five beautiful children. Another cousin just got married; they met on a forum dedicated to music.

I believe once upon a time, there were two MR members who met here and got married and have children now.:)

Then make this thread an anonymous poll, and don't require that the girls post to be counted, just to satisfy your curiosity.

You've been here long enough to know how to do that.

I am female, and this is one of the very few times I have admitted to such on these forums. I simply don't believe it's an important factor in most discussion.

I don't think it's important either! at all. I'm just curious, y'know, it's nice to know a bot more about the community.

No, I agree - it's nice to see the makeup of the community.

I simply prefer to remain "one of the guys," instead of running around screaming "omg I'm a girl" in my signature and using some cutesy username like KittenAppleFanGirlExtremez, all while using the avatar of a sparkly My Little Pony.

Yes, NyanCat is kind of ... sparkly. But he's freakin' meme-tastic, dammit! ;)

True, but they all met as Demi's, did they not?

It's a tighter community there, and more trust has built-up as a result.

I'm Female,:p but have been totally obsessed with Macs for years.......Hubby always chuckles about his "Computer Geek" wife. Him and our friends know, if there is a 'puter problem, or a network to be set up, I am the one they call, not him.

Isn't the "demi-goddess" under your username also a giveaway? Then again, that could just be a clever ruse. :)

I'm a girl too. I think Alaerian has it right - I don't feel the need to make a point of it or have people treat me any differently than they would assuming I were male.

This definitely isn't representative of the population here. You basically called women to the thread.
