I'm a girl and I work at an Apple Retail store. It's pretty awesome, but a LOT of men don't want to talk to me about "technological" things because I'm a girl and they think I won't be able to do it.

How are you allowed to have a MR account? My friend who works at the Apple store was forced to shut down his column on LowEndMac and is not allowed to have MR account. I want to work there, but I can't imagine having to stop posting on here:cool:.

I never got told to shut it down. Maybe because I just work there on weekends, I don't really hear many "rumors".

No, I agree - it's nice to see the makeup of the community.

I simply prefer to remain "one of the guys," instead of running around screaming "omg I'm a girl" in my signature and using some cutesy username like KittenAppleFanGirlExtremez, all while using the avatar of a sparkly My Little Pony.

Yes, NyanCat is kind of ... sparkly. But he's freakin' meme-tastic, dammit! ;)

Oh contrar, if you wanted to be one of the fullas then you would have chosen a different title than "Demi Goddess" when you donated to MacRumors.

Really? Even if they didn't think you could do it, I'd imagine they'd approach you with their issue out of the curiosity to see if you could do it. Thats what I would do anyway... :)

Nah, so many men have just walked past me, and if the guys are busy and they HAVE to ask me they say "I don't know if you can help me with this or not, but how do I change my desktop wallpaper?" or something like that. When I finish helping them they then say "Oh, I didn't think you'd be able to do it. I was going to wait for one of the boys". Maybe it's an Australian thing??

Wow, seems quite odd. Here in NZ there's tons of woman on tech support for various things, and most of them are pretty good :D (Well, the Kiwi ones anyway. Not when companies outsource their tech support to Asian countries. No offense to asians, its just that they don't train them well or manage them very well).

Well, the male/female ratio on the internet is leaning quite heavily towards the male side. So when it comes to guys wanting to talk to girls on the internet there aren't enough girls. The online society naturally solved this by males posing as females. Can any guy here honestly say that you've never ever posed as the opposite gender online?

Ah, but you are secure in your masculinity.

The other bozos are ashamed to be bested by a 'mere' gurl. ;)

Is this the online equivalent as being on the down low?

Only law enforcement and Chris Hansen pose as girls on the internet.

not very PROUD of being on here thoughh

Now that's a post that's contradictory in terms if I ever saw one...

Not sure how reliable this is, but supposedly, almost half of facebook users are women, while so far a large majority of G+ users are male... ;)

I have. I chatted with some Algerian guy who actually gave me his phone number and wanted to marry me

If you're really bored, it's fun. ;)

No, I haven't. I think you might have a problem. :D

Mac Chicks are hawt! In fact Mac Girls automatically get bumped up 2 points in hotness.

Perhaps its because most people that own Macs aren't exactly poor. So most 'mac girls' sit around the more successful height of society. And the more successful tend to be more inspired, therefore healthier, and of course: Hot.
