Being able to use it for the past 7 months and I bought a $70 upgrade to 8GB ram which I left in it after I sold it for $1100. Not bad to have the next newest MBP. Likewise with the previous years as well.

wow buyers in florida must be a little dumb spendy huh?

This may work for people with lots of money, not for me. I don't want to keep buying things over and over. I rather buy the latest and greatest and keep it for a while. that's is usually how I have most of my things at home. my watches, tv's, cars etc. I buy the best I can afford and make that initial investment the first time. but good luck selling and buying every year it works for some and not for others. The only thing I sell almost every year is my iphones. just because I usually tend to make money of them.

Yeah this isnt a business asset. This isnt like a piece of heavy machinery that you invest for a company with depreciating value and you cant think of MacBooks as long term investments that you try to milk as long as possible - not when they resell like they do.

Its not a refrigerator or an office copy machine or a printing press or something, its a personal laptop.

I know how you are thinking, you are just applying that logic to the wrong type of item.

(IMO of course :) )

no, but I do notice after the 6 month window I begin to use it no hands when I'm surfing the net in bed and begin to carry it one hand, etc

I was eating some greasy salami slices and then I barely wiped my hands off before touching the keys and they got a bit oily and then I realized something...

I dont care anymore.

Now that I know the trade is imminent this machine doesn't feel like my baby anymore and I kinda feel less OCD about it. Its almost time...

I care more now that I'm bout to sell it. I need the money to pay for the new one (which I'm really betting is Thursday, otherwise I will be without a computer for a while).

Right, I`m off to give my MBP a good kicking!!!
And I`m not even buying one of the new models ;)

No, seriously, it will continue to live a fairly cosseted life.

I specifically bought iKlear to clean my MBP before I sold it. Of course it was already clean to begin with, but I thought what the heck. So, no.

If you want to sell it, why would you not want to keep it in as good condition as possible?
That way you'd get the most money in return.
I always keep a mint machine, unless some terrible accident happens....
