I'm not done with Apple but I'm done buying newly released iPhones. I can't see the point paying the premium when i'll be able to pick up a cheaper iPhone 8 next September. Not fussed on the X and doubt it'll be cheap enough next year.

So far this release has received quite a negative response on the whole today I feel. Certainly not the buzz I thought we'd see and the price is the major buzz kill.

I just started last year with apple. Have bought a macbook iphone 7 plus and ipad since. I will be getting the iphone x. I used to chuckle when they would mention the word ecosystem but there really is something to all the devices working together. I was 1st team all note but the note 7 problems made me jump ship and I don't think at this point I will be going back to Samsung.

No, I'm far from done, I brought the iPad Pro this year and after yesterday's keynote I will be buying the iPhone X and a new Apple Watch series 3 (to upgrade from the very first Apple Watch. Each to their own really but I find Apple products to be great and their customer service excellent.

I'm done buying ipads after ipad 2, brought and love it, until i updated it, then it became a massively slow $600 16gb device. I will never buy another future sabotage proof device from apple again, iphone se will be my next purchase but only because of ios. (not updating the se software as well)

I wouldn't go as far to say I'm "done with Apple", but after the event yesterday I can say for certain that I'm extremely disappointed. In my opinion, the iPhone X isn't even close to being "cutting edge". I'm unimpressed with Face ID - in fact, I don't ever want that to be the way my phone unlocks. I realize you can turn that feature off, but why drop $1000 on a phone and pay for that feature only to disable it? The notch at the top of the bezel is hideous and goes against anyone seeking a sleek look. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus really only give you wireless charging, a bit more speed, and a glass back. And if you want to use wireless charging, you have to drop more cash.

The final thing that bugs me - the thing that bugs me the MOST - is the removal of the 128GB option. Apple is decidedly cornering their consumers into spending more money. They know that most folks will choose to upgrade their storage instead of downgrade it; in turn, people spend significantly more money on the 256GB version. This is a tactic they've deployed for years, but it's never really bothered me so much until now - coincidentally, the same year they hit the $1000 mark for their flagship model of iPhone. I need more than 64GB but less than 256GB. Apple clearly doesn't care about people like me; they want the cash. It's completely aggravating.

In my opinion, I think it's time for Apple to go back to the basics. I might be doing that myself -- I'm SERIOUSLY considering a 128GB iPhone SE to replace my 128GB iPhone 7 Plus. I wanted to downsize this year, but nothing in the new lineup is overly appealing to me. I love the 4" form factor of the SE, it's got a 12MP camera, a fast-enough processor, iOS 11 and 128GB of storage. No real bells or whistles aside from Touch ID. I've been using a 5S for the past week while I attempt to sell my 7 Plus and, despite the slowness of the A7 chip, being able to one-hand my phone again feels GREAT. Lots to think about.

I agree with you about the storage. I have a 7+ with 128GB. I am looking at the 8 or X with 64 GB. It seems so odd to upgrade to a lower storage. There is no way in hell UI am paying them for 256GB. I have to draw thew line somewhere. So my new line I have drawn is now $800. Maybe that is low for some or high for others... I had to pick an arbitrary line to stick to.

By chiseling their users on storage Apple is losing some good will. They have used this tactic forever but it is wearing very thin now. 64 or 256 is basically all or nothing. If that's the way Apple wants to roll so be it but I will only purchase from them things that I must have. No more splurging on upgrades and minimal configurations of whatever I buy.

I am no longer willing to say it's only another $150. The price isn't the real issue although it sort of is. More than that I don't like being chumped. Apple has run this scam long enough and I am done with it.

I feel with this launch there are a lot of people who are expressing the same contempt for their pricing strategy in this regard. If at least the X was $999 with 128GB I would have considered it. The fact they were too ashamed to even print or say the price of the 256 GB during the keynote is pretty telling.

From here on out I will buy only the minimum I can from Apple. I have stopped rearranging the deck chairs and am now seated on one near the life boat.

So it seems for many of us from here on out it seems for a few of us that the launch of a new iphone means we will be sifting through the scrap heap of last years models trying to find value for money.

Enough is enough.

My seeds of discontent were planted when I installed the Sierra release on my iMac and could no longer log into more than 4-5 accounts simultaneously (the .3 release + process/file handle increases fixed this). The final nail in the coffin was when they removed app management in iTunes 12.7 (I am back at 12.6). There was simply no legitimate excuse for that. And you can see there is pushback on that given the iTunes 12.6.3 release after 12.7.

20-30 hours to restore my iDevice from the internet instead of 2 from my iMac? I don't think so. At this point, I simply cannot trust Apple. Who knows what they'll do next. I am not using iCloud.

EDIT: Something else I wanted add...with the Sierra problem, that was the point I stopped recommending Apple products.
