The very same for me. First time gold and went with the umber case.First time gold phone buyer...its very tasteful with the cream glass black and stainless steel gold-colored accents. Especially in the "Umber" leather case.

Blech. I saw the black at an Apple Store and was not a fan at all. The graphite works much better on stainless steel.

I did too and its starting to feel "vanilla" bland now... but thats ok because im mostly paying attention to the front
The gold is lighter this year compared to the 13 pro. It’s more “Starlight” which is actually kind of cool.
I went with the Deep Purple 14 Pro Max and I couldn’t be happier. I’m currently using a clear bumper with a glass back protector, so I can see the color everyday.
Start of week 4 with my silver 14 pro max and am still happy with my color choice. Though I am using a case, so I don't get to see its full glory all that much lol. I have been seriously considering going caseless with this phone. But I feel like that would be dangerous even though I do have Apple care Plus.

I got the 14 PM in deep purple on a lunch day, and we liked it so much that I just picked up another deep purple 14 PM for my wife. She loves the color too. I am rocking it naked, she has a clear case for added safety.
Got deep purple & I'm happy with it! Was my first choice out of the 4 available.
I do know I might be a little peeved if the mid cycle color turns out to be a blue or green color, lol. Otherwise, glad I got purple!

Same here. Initially I ordered black, but then I saw it in store and cancelled. It's so extremely boring this year.
Space black here. It’s definitely my favorite of the 4 pro options, though I’m itching to see what the mid-cycle color addition will be this time. I had a black 4, then a white 5, then space grey 6, black 7, space grey Xs and now this space black. My favorite of all those has been the matte black 7, because it was closest the the black 5 that I never had… go figure. Maybe I’ll go white again or a color next time. I’m definitely tired of different versions of grey. Even space black is more grey than my Xs. Not fond of the other pro options though, and if I would have gone for the regular 14, I would have gone for blue probably.

Apple needs to put more effort into selecting colors for the iPhone pro and pro max

When I buy a new iPhone, I also put a display protector on and put phone in the case and forget about color.
They did an excellent job with the silver. For whatever reason the 14 pros seem less chintzy and fake than the 13’s stainless steel: like they were a cheap coating or something.
The gold is nice, just not for me.
The purple isn’t boring though, I don’t think, it’s again just not for me. If it was a darker purple I’d might spring for it, but under the Apple Store bright lights it’s just a little too bright for me. I can imagine purple lovers would eat it up, though.
I'm thinking one of those might be the mid cycle color. To not have a blue or green option was an interesting choice, which makes me think one of those will be the mid cycle color.
I never regret getting Space Gray/Graphite/Space Black since it‘s ageless, goes with everything, and looks professional. Whenever I get any other color I regret it a few months in
Yes! Deep purple is, in my opinion, the best looking iPhone yet. It matches up well with the elderberry case.
It is a really nice colour but I do think the Pacific Blue and Sierra Blue rival it. I do miss my Sierra Blue but I am liking the Deep Purple and feel it’s definitely a better colour than the Space Black and Gold. I do like Silver though. I’m happy with the Deep Purple.
I got SB, coming from a Graphite 13 Pro Max. It's "ok" not much difference between the two.
I actually was planning on getting the Deep Purple but forgot when I "pre-configured" my order.
Maybe next year.

Yes! Very happy with the Gold this year. Dark colored iPhones are difficult to blend well with different colored cases. You either have to get a dark case just to make it look decent. Gold goes with pretty much anything and I really enjoy looking at the back of the phone and seeing the three large camera circles. darker iPhones hide the cameras too much and you can barely see them. I love the gold this year!
