Matt Smith AKA as the Eleventh Doctor from Doctor Who!

I'm a huge Doctor Who fan (Whovian) thats why I have it has my avatar and thats why I post replies on threads with Doctor Who references, sometimes not all the time lol

ohh ok thanks! :D

I won't be... I finally got tired of Apple and gave my wife the iPhone 5... Now I'm happy with a Galaxy S4.. Love the screen...:). Maybe I'll switch back to iphone when the 6 comes out... if it comes with a big screen..

Why will we be dissapointed?

We'll be getting the iPhone 5S (which is 100% certain to have a fingerprint sensor), the iPhone 5C, iOS 7 and maybe a couple of unexpected announcements.

Huh, some people are just too hard to please.

Disappointment?! Apple is unveiling a brand new, totally redesigned and revolutionary new iPhone with new digs. IOS 7 is getting all the missing new features, and the MacBook Pro line-up is getting thinner and lighter with Haswell. Similar updates with the iPad and finally a Retina display Mini! I'm pretty sure an iWatch appearance is in the cards, too. How could anyone feel disappointed with all these great gadgets coming our way in a few hours?!

Apart from your fanboy blabla: no iPads today that's confirmed. And no macbooks either, so what are you talking about?

I'm pretty sure that as the OP was posting this in the iOS 7 area, they WEREN'T talking about hardware!!

Yes, OP, I can see a LOT of complaining about 7 and the changes (or lack thereof) but give it a few weeks, it will settle down.

I'm already a bit disappointed that the iLife apps are not getting iOS7 upgrades today (as per Daring Fireball).

We've had weeks of people saying that if you don't have your app updated to iOS7's look at launch you're going to have your lunch eaten in the app store by people who do, and Apple themselves seem to have dropped a total clanger there.

Cause I know for sure a lot people will be tomorrow :)

I was talking about ios7.

Disappointment for iOS 7? Do we not already know much of what to expect? We know how it looks, the features it brings etc. I know Apple will have held a few back to feature exclusively on the 5S, but how exactly can we be disappointed?

If you are already disappointed, then the likelihood of that changing is slim.

My upgrades not until november so I'm hoping the 5C will be free on at most £30 a month contract..

You'll be lucky. The iPhone 5 has only just dropped to that mark and most of the time there's still an upfront cost.

Apple still price their devices too highly and the contracts are overpriced.

I am always excited for the event, but this will be the first time since the original iphone that I will not own one on day one...or even ever =/

Well since iOS 7 isn't on general release until next Tuesday, no apps will get updates until next week. Devs aren't even allowed to submit updates using the new SDK yet. Today is GM only, of course no apps will get iOS 7 updates today, so no clanger....

I think the clear inference from Gruber's article isn't that releases are coming next week, but they're not coming in the forseeable.

They would be announced today if they were coming in the next few weeks.

It was a simple question. A lot grown man in this thread are displaying a lot of sensitivity. Plus I was referring to ios 7, I would like apple to give us some new cool features or something simple like msm reply. Hold you balls until 1 pm est. time.

Ever since 1999, when Phil Schiller jumped off a 20 ft high platform live on stage, everything else has been a disappointment. They sure don't make 'em like that anymore:

I've been on MacRumors since 2005, and I can't recall a single product that Apple's announced since then that hasn't spawned 100+ "disappointed" threads.

It's the 'cool' thing to do.

Remember the infamous Thread 500 here? It's from October 23, 2001, when Apple announced the iPod?

The. Freaking. iPod.

I don't think even iOS 7 will beat the level of disappointment from that day.

This was a good read. Some things never change. I liked this comment

"All that hype for an MP3 player? Break-thru digital device? The Reality Distiortion Field™ is starting to warp Steve's mind if he thinks for one second that this thing is gonna take off."

I fully expect to be disappointed by the Keynote but I will enjoy it nonetheless. Hopefully there will be some sort of suprise in store for us, but I think we will be looking at nothing more that a serious spec upgrade.

Everytime people say 'iPhone is crap." etc. I always respond with this

"People still line up for it, millions people still buy it...until that comes to an end...the iPhone is not crap"

iPhone is crap. People line up and millions buy it. Those two statements are not mutually exclusive. Both can be true at the same time.

Honestly, I'm buying the iPhone 5S not because the hardware is that amazing. I'm not buying it for iOS7 because my iPhone 5 would get it anyway. I'm buying it because I've got $300 dollars to burn and my upgrade is up.

Next year I'll just sell my 5S for $600 dollars and then pick up a iPhone 6 at full price. ;)

iPhone 5S is merely a spec bump and nothi else. I understand Apple is in S cycle. So I am not going to get any excitement at beginning.

What is exciting, take example of Galaxy Note 3. Though Samsung kept similar look and fell wih Galaxy S4 and using fake leather. What excited me was the software. Enhanced multi-tasking, small app view, enhanced S-pen functionalities etc. But I don't see same happens on iOS 7 size.

Sure iOS 7 gets new look, control Center, new notitication Center, multi-tasking card view. These aren't innovation at all, but merely feature enhancement,

Why not all just be intrigued? Disappointment is such a powerful thing..

Watch, Evaluate, Buy if ya like... I'll get it cos I'm a gadget (not Apple) whore.

Hey, If all they introduce is that new sexy silver ring around the home button then that's all the extra shiny I need :)
