It's hard to take anyone serious when they have i, Mac, Apple, Jobs, etc in the forum name, LOL

Getting back to the difference in battery life between the two processors, i feel it depends on what App.s you have and how they operate.
I quickly found my AirMore file moving App. was a real battery drain even when not being used. Turned it off till it is needed and battery life quickly returned to normal.
So until people get control of the power being used by their App.s the real facts about the power used by the different processors will not be known.

That includes yourself, w*i*se87.
Couldn't resist the perfect moment.

I forgot to add, Apple related avatars. I couldn't pass on that. FYI, Wise87 is the call sign of the aircraft I worked on while being deployed overseas numerous times so it does have a meaning.

May be you are too serious for *Mac*rumors forum then, with an apple in the logo. LOL

Lock it. I'm actually suffering.

AGAIN what does everyone think about this?

I have been down that road you are traveling (with a Galaxy S5 and my brother with a S6)... you'll regret that move. Both of us regretted that terribly.

I seriously hope that won't be the case. Of course it would be naive of myself if I would say that there's no chance that I will regret the switch to the S6. Only time will tell. At least the 'honeymoon fase' with it is the best I have ever experienced with a smartphone, and that's coming from a recovering phone junkie who's had so many phones that it's getting ridiculous by now:confused:

Seriously! Why create a thread like this? Are there really people out there that care about where their f***ing chip was sourced from, and even enough to try and change it? If so, you must seriously have a petty life to be so pedantic over something so insignificant. This is a mobile phone for god sake!

Blacklist people for talking about exchanging their phone for a better one?
Wow, you just took "Apple Love" to a whole new level.

No. I said blacklisting for the folks who exchanging their iPhones for an excessive amount of times. Obviously you cant blacklist someone for saying they are going to do it. But there are people foolish enough to go multiple times to exchange their iPhones hoping for a TMSC chip phone.

The thread was made for those that have issues regarding battery life, etc..., and to see if they have or will return/ exchange. For some, there are real issues. I know others cannot fathom these kinds of issues, although, they are being reported, and could very well be more prevalent as time goes by. Other tests are in the making as we speak, so time will tell how wide the problem is. I suspect in the next few days to a week we will here much more about this.

OMG people. If your settings are good both chips have great battery life. One chip has a slight advantage over the other.

Unless you are on your phone for literally 7 hours a day it doesn't matter AT ALL. And if you are on your phone 7 hours a day you need to get a job and a life.

Peace out.

This whole Chipgate thing remind me of the video with the bear wanting an IPhone even though the salesman was trying to convince her it didn't make a difference which phone she bought based on the feature set she wanted.

View attachment 591417

Salesman: Here you go, here's your brand new Rose Gold IPhone 6S

Bear: Is that the one with the TSMC A9 that runs cooler and gets 18 hours of battery life to match my 18-hour bra?

Salesman: Er, no, I believe this one has the Samsung chip.

Bear: I want a TSMC

Salesman: This is the Samsung chip. At most you'll notice a 3% difference in battery life.

Bear: Idon'tcare.

Salesman: Look, it has a perfect even tone white display.

Bear: Idon'tcare

Salesman: Look, the Apple logo and the writing on the back are perfectly centered. Everybody cares about that! Do you know how many returns I've processed over crooked printing?

Bear: Idon'tcare

Salesman: Haven't you heard that there's a possibility the Samsung chip can run under heavier loads for a longer time without throttling?

Bear: Oh look, there is a Space Grey IPhone 6S. Does that one have the TSMC chip that can run for 18 hours to match my 18 Hour bra?

Salesman: Yes, but that's for Sprint. You asked for the AT&T model with Band 30 compatibility.

Bear: I'll take it. It has the TSMC chip with amazing 18 hour battery life to match the staying power of my 18 hour bra. I am a power user. I am up 18 hours using my iPhone nonstop. This matters much to me. I am spending much money on this. I deserve TSMC and Playtex.
The bear knows! I love it ;)

Speaking of OCD, for someone that is so upset about this thread and the fact that there are people talking about possibly exchanging their phones, you are awfully engaged. Did you come here just to slam people with your 30+ comments in this thread?[/QUO

They were advertised heavily, pardon the expression, when I was a kid in the 70's. Apparently they are still around but not as popular. I remember asking my dad what happens to the lady's boobies if she wears the bra past 18 hours and he told me everything collapses and the whole shebang slides down to her ankles. I had quite the childhood.
LMAO

I am keeping mine, maybe Apple will tweak the kernel somehow. Sometimes because of work I won't be back home for up to 2 days - so battery life is very important. If the battery life difference is really this big I really hope Apple fixes this problem with a software update or provides a free exchange.
