I am keeping mine, maybe Apple will tweak the kernel somehow. Sometimes because of work I won't be back home for up to 2 days - so battery life is very important. If the battery life difference is really this big I really hope Apple fixes this problem with a software update or provides a free exchange.
You work in the rain forest? No outlets, cars with receptacles, computers, you can get some juice from? Can you say the word Mophie

Bye, good luck.

(That's my work phone, you'll have less battery)

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Wow, yet another person who thought he was serious. How could you not get that he was joking? Some people!

From all the silly little things Samsung makes petty commercials about, for this .. I really hope they make one, and i wouldnt feel it is petty

Apple has been pretty stupid in this case. They know full well, people will tear down the units and investigate choices.

They should have gone with one or the other. In fact, if they are such a bright company why not put the chip that delivers better battery in the phone with the smallest battery. Would make sense, and you could make a case for that being a good technical decision. Not so smart are they.

Their motivations:

1) Meet demand. Nah!
2) Save money. Likely!
3) Change vendors. Maybe!

Now, I would like the TMSC chip but I am not going to stand in the store and open phone after phone to get one.

I thought this thread would have died off by now.

honestly I get the impression that the people with TSMC chips are more bothered about Samsung chips then people with the Samsung chip are, I've seen lots of people saying they are okay with the battery life they get, I have seen a couple of people run the benchmark then decide they want a replacement because of that though. so far I don't think I've seen anyone actually complain about the battery life they get otherwise in real world usage with either chip.

as I said before the Samsung isn't a bad chip, it meets Apple's advertised specs from every indication, it seems the TSMC chip may be better but you can't exactly complain and threaten legal action and stuff when your phone only performs as advertised and not better :p

You really think Apple Store gonna let you do that?

Why would they?? They may as well throw money off the rooftops if they were dumb enough to say that. All sorts of lawyers would go after any such statement.

I know, I was just responding to another post saying that Apple said the TSMC chip was performing better.

We have one phone with the Samsung chipset and one with the TSMC.

We are happy with the battery life and performance on both.

Given that neither have any issues I will not swap the Samsung for a TSMC phone.

I still feel unless you know how each of your APP.s are using your phones battery, you can't compare one phone using one chip set to another using a different chip set.
I found my App. AirMore would really draw the battery power, even when not in use, turned it off until really needed battery life improved.

They need a life or a job if they are literaly on the phone for 6 hours out of the day.

Carry a charger. both chips will need it with that kind of heavy usage.

I have a life and a full time job and I'm on the phone more than 6 hours a day streaming/listening to YouTube in the background, checking emails, browsing news, Facebook, and tapatalk during breaks and lunch and on hold during phone calls. I did all these with my year-old iPhone 6 before and needed to charge usually around 4pm with my work day starts at 10:45am.

I have a 6s plus Samsung chip now and I need to charge at the same time as before and that's why I'm not happy with the battery life at all with the new phone.

Thank you.

You can contribute that to the smaller battery.

None of us were expecting to get longer battery life because the batteries are actually smaller in the new phones. So long as you're not actually getting less then I don't see the problem. I get approximately the same battery life from my 6S+ as I used to get from my 10 month old 6+ (which was running iOS8).
