So wait, If you get the Samsung you get a better screen? I like the whiter screens. Hmmm

Yes, magically the screen changes color depending on which chip is inside. It's not a panel lottery, like every previous iPhone.

Also, the headphones on rose gold models with samsung chips sound better when playing the beatles white album backwards.

Truly amazed by some who are suggesting those upset with the Samsung chip should simply sit tight, enjoy. I think most are trying to ease concerns and that is welcome though probably doesn't help, particularly if they are weighing in with a device with the non-Samsung chip. I have a Samsung chip, am disconcerted by all of the assertions but am sticking with my 6s because I like it and trust Apple will make it right if there are real issues. But if I were really troubled, then I would endlessly pursue getting a replacement -- for the peace of mind if nothing else and realization I should in my mind get my money's worth. Apple should encourage that as well because I would assume they want people to associate good experiences with the purchase of an iPhone. So far there are too many cases where that seems not true. As for Apple throwing out real time experiences in their release, I would suggest that really doesn't comfort those disturbed by the other tests. After all those assertions on real use can mean anything ... virtually a case applied to each user.

i hope so, it would be logical to phase them out seeing as: samsung chips get worse battery life in intense load, samsung are their only real competitor for phones, and they no longer need 2 chip suppliers to meet demand, and of course they don't want people referring to them as samsung iphones xD

They get a BARELY noticable difference under the heaviest load (GFXBench) FFS Geekbench is an anomaly, The heaviest useage is GFXBench and the difference is tiny.

wow. i really don't know what to say, this is wrong on so many levels.
So is worrying so much about what chip is in your phone compared with the fact that people are dying unnecessarily or the fact that so many people are in poverty. Lets put this into context.

I am just curious as to what you insane people are telling the people at the Apple store when you are exchanging an iPhone for the 5th time? Are you actually telling them you are trying to get a different chip? Do they look at you like:

i don't really see how that's relevant, people returning iphones isnt going to kill people or put people in poverty.

yea ive been thinking about that, but people said geekbench is still a valid test. im benchmarking my current android phone on geekbench for battery so depending on how that does i might not care anymore, or care less.

I've not read this whole thread, but I activated my new 6s yesterday and discovered it has the Samsung chip.

If the battery lasts a day on my usage, I'll keep it. If it doesn't, I may return it and buy a 6S Plus. What I won't do is get on the 6s carousel hoping for a TSMC chip. I doubt it would make that much difference.

Don't go throwing logic in a perfectly good Internet forum discussion! There's rules against that kind of behavior!

Why? You do know that people returning phones for stupid reasons is costing the rest of us.
Stupid reasons? I respectfully disagree. Just wondering what chip you have. I have a Samsung chipped 6s and love it. Not returning. But if I felt totally pressed on not getting what I paid for, there is no doubt I would return it endlessly until I got the kind of experience Apple has always encouraged -- producing a satisfied customer. And truthfully it is up to Apple whether to pass around the cost. Their margins are excellent and they have plenty of ready cash on the sidelines. They charge a premium for a premium product. All of this is to be expected!

People like you are funny. You expect that if a person, company or entity has a lot of money... they shouldn't mind if they lose some of it. They will eventually pass the cost down to consumers.... one way or another.

And that is up to them, right? I guess I am funny in expecting companies charging a premium for their products to indeed provide premium products. And as you probably noted, I love my Samsung chipped 6s. Keeping it! Doesn't worry me that much although I understand those who do not feel the same way.

well first apparently we're being childish/pathetic for returning our phones, yet you post that, second that's just not nice, and third you and 12 others actually want him to get the worse chip...

it isn't a stupid reason - battery life is important. and i don't see how it's costing you if you've already bought the phone, and apple make a huge profit on every iphone so they're not going to increase the price just because a few techgeeks returned their iphones...

yes i do expect apple won't care if they lose some of their money - a few years ago i dropped my ipod touch 4g and smashed the screen, went to the store and the guy swapped it with another one for free! :D
