i dont know whether i should care about this anymore - if i got the iphone 6s and ended up with the samsung, it would probably be fine for everyday use and i'd be happy with it, but in the back of my mind i'd always be thinking "i have the worse chip". i wish i didn't know about this issue.
Then go by an Android.

Then go by an Android.
ive got an android phone now but id like to try ios out, as there's a few things i prefer about ios to android:

+ios gets all the good apps first e.g. happy wheels, ifruit, etc.
+i'll always be up to date (currently STILL on android 4.4 on my galaxy alpha),
+can't use EE's wifi calling on my android phone as i didn't buy it from EE, but with iphones it doesn't matter where you bought it from - apple controls the software, not EE.
+apps get updated quicker on iphone.
*i can still use the google apps on iphone.
-no widgets on home screens (this is pretty much the only thing i don't like about ios)

also some android phones have similar problems to chipgate - e.g. samsung galaxy s6 camera sensor - sony and samsung manufactured sensors and the sony one was apparently better iirc. it's only because the iphone is so popular that these issues get so public.

I've been with Android since 2010 (recently flipped to iOS) and bought and used many devices from a $20 Moto G to a $750 Note 4. That $20 Moto G would serve over 90% of everyone that owns a iPhone. And you want to know why people don't use it? It's because they are picky. People here don't want to use Android and they find the hardware inferior. To me that's being picky and there is nothing wrong with that.
We do this with food all the time. I hate Burger King because I'm picky. You may not like a certain girl/guy because you're picky. No different when it comes to gadgets. It's the primary reason why you're reading this forum; because you're picky.

I don't read this forum because I am picky but because it's the largest iPhone community on the net and I like to get REAL information. I have an iPhone because 95% of my family (my kids, my grandkids and even my 90+ yr old parents) have one and not because I am picky. I have no allegiance to Apple nor do I care which device I own.

Your response has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that 99.999% of all iPhone users don't give a hoot about this SPECIFIC non-issue which is the topic of this thread. Picky is one thing but "way too much ado about absolutely nothing" is another. I read this forum reluctantly trying to separate 99% of the whining preteens from the real information much of it thankfully provided on the "front page." This time of the year, every year, this place becomes filled with meaningless drivel and posts repeated over and over 100 times. There is a lot of REAL information to be found on MacRumors but around this time of the year, every year, it's more like a Middle School lunch room. These forums are usually a great source of help and information but for 2-3 months each year it becomes pretty much useless because the noise level is so high the "real" information (save for the "front page") is pretty much gone.

I only "read this forum" because after reading the news on the front page I like regress back to my middle school days and have a good chuckle over all the ridiculous complaints & multitude of meaningless threads for some light hearted entertainment. I've been around here for many years and every year it's always the same. The only good part is I know it will get better in a month or two but then next October is always just around the corner.

Enjoyed your comments and thoughts. But to humor me, what chip do you have?
Incidentally my 6s is a Samsung chipped device and personally I have no complaints. Love it!
At the same time I can certainly understand those who perhaps feel let down and in their minds want what they perceive is a premium for a premium payout. In their minds they are seeking the ultimate, I know. But after all doesn't that fit in with the Apple and iPhone image of excellence built over the years?

I'm already getting a full day battery life on my 6s Plus. I don't care they it's the Sammy chip.
I'm happy with my device.

Agreed. I get a full day's usage out of the battery. My phone doesn't get hot and doesn't seem to have any other problems with the screen or otherwise. I see no reason to trade it for another on the chance I'd get the TSMC chip instead.

I absolutely agree. Of course, I subscribe to the school of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I want a Samsung chip. I have Samsung kitchen appliances, Samsung the and I'm very happy with there stuff. Simple as that lol

So question.

Would you take your godly TSMC chip but have a loose home button, loose mute switch, uneven screen or

A samsung chip with everything else perfect?

lol

You shouldn't buy one, because you'll never be happy with it. Even if you got the TSMC chip, you'd then read and reread all the contrary reports that suggest that actually the Samsung is a touch better, a touch faster, etc etc and drive yourself mad that way. So just don't buy one.

Of course you're missing out. I have the Samsung and it's way way better than "fine for everyday use", the battery life on this thing is fantastic and I'm convinced it's at least as good or better than any other iPhone out there (barring the plus). But hey - it's not for you. Bad luck.

May be so, but if CR said you had the "best phone evahhhh" you'd be quoting that comment to everyone who says anything negative about AAPL. ;)

Absolutely not. I am not a blind loyalist by any means and I have no issue with criticizing Apple. You clearly haven't read any of my other posts...
