Unless it came on the car that I already wanted, I'm not going to get an inferior car that has that feature. A car that works well and gets 45 mpg minimum is better than buying a car for a minor feature.
Actually, you could probably adapt this for phones as well. Just sub the stuff about mileage.
If the iphone doesn't come with a certain feature, then it's not going to bother me. I'd rather have a phone that I feel is best for me than settle for an inferior phone for a minor feature.
Heated steering wheel

And here I thought I was content with just heated seats. Winter driving would be so much better if I had a heated steering wheel (currently I use a dedicated pair of leather gloves when driving in the winter). Looks like I know what'll be one of the features in my next car.

Oh, of course. I wouldn't go out of my way to get a particular feature (whether we're talking about cars or phones). But if that feature happened to be on one of the choices I was deciding between, then it would definitely play a role in my decision.

I completely agree with the last part about getting something that is suited for yourself and don't sweat the small stuff. That's probably why I've jumped around in the past between different phones trying to find what fit for me.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not...

but I also had a pair of gloves dedicated to my car. Since I do not have a garage to park my car in, it is always freezing during the winter.

I would actually be happy with another phone with 3.5" screen rather than 4". I dont want a damn mini tablet but a phone.

I never had any battery problems, I charge my phone overnight, sometimes at work or in the car.

A5 or A6, I don't care much, iPhone 4S has enough power for me already, I have an iPad for gaming.

LTE...dunno, I checked coverage in germany and it is not good. And it will cost extra, so I probably wont get it even if the phone supports it.

NFC...Never cared less about a feature.

Camera...OK, the pre-4 cameras were really bad, but camera in 4 is already sufficient. Using my D90 for real photos and phone only for photos where quality is irrelevant.

Dock connector. I have not a single device, even gave away my cheap cradle with my 4S. Will need to get a new car charger with two USB - so what!

Actually what I would need to find excuses for would be the phone being ugly or too bulky for the front pocket of my jeans.

I wasn't quite saying that, but if the feature is available on the car I am looking at, I will be getting it again.

As for the phones, for me... It is all about the ecosystem and how well my electronics sync together. So I am invested in the Apple Ecosystem, iCloud, and iTunes... So even if I am disappointed with the new iPhone... I will still buy it, because I will make money by selling my old phone and getting the new one.

NFC: Will never use it. Far to insecure for my liking. Plus it doesn't give me any advantage over using a CC.
LTE: I barely use 3G data. I might used 200MB per month for entire family. Might be nice I guess, but I"m always on wireless.
Dock Connector: It could use a 220V connector for all I care. I only use it to charge, which is over night while I sleep.

Larger screen? I'm more of a pureist and prefer a phone to be a phone. Going up to 4" might be my limit. But its not enough to make me upgrade just for that.

I'm calling it here:

#1 complaint: 2 toned back
#2 complaint: screen's too big/small
#3 complaint: lack of new adequate Siri commands
#4 complaint: lack of RAM
#5 complaint: something to do with the Maps app

wrong itll be yellow screen tint/whatever screen defects people imagine as #1 ;)

Don't forget "my screen is slightly yellower than my 4s, if you hold them side by side."

ETA. Should have read the post above mine first. :)

I had a 32 GB 4S... It turned out to not be enough either. I will be getting a 64 GB iPhone this time as well.

I can't stand being told to delete stuff when I try to take a picture or download something.

it's aweful.

My 18-month-old put a baseball cap on her head and was walking around. She couldn't see and was running into stuff. (in all fairness, I tried to take the hat off her head and she yelled at me and I tried to pull it up above her eyes but she was convinced that you wear it over your face.)

Absolutely hilarious... so I start recording video... just before the next collision I get a message that I'm out of space. GRRRRrrr....

But the yellow screen complaint is not unique to the iPhone 5. As long as Apple is making iPhones, there will be people complaining of yellow screens. So, it may take the all time #1 complaint spot, slightly edging out poor battery performance.

"No one is going to buy it. It is just a spec bump."

"There's not enough there for me to upgrade."

"It would've been different with Steve."

"Apple is doomed."

  1. I don't need a bigger phone, the new iphone is perfect size
  2. I can just own an iPad Mini and iPhone all together
  3. I enjoy all day battery life with my new significantly larger iphone

These threads are pointless. You'll also have a bunch of whiners complaining about how Apple is "so behind the competition" because of one feature or another. How about people buy a phone they like and works for them without trying to rationalize their decisions by ridiculing others.

There, I said it! :D

I have a better one
arguments that fandroid-in-disguise like you will make tomorrow: apple didn't 'invent' anything, android had those long time ago!.

haha wow so happy to come back to an active thread.

I am not a fandroid nor a crapple fan. I just love good technology

I just look forward to the "My screen is yellow/pink/green/gay flag rainbow . I have to return it 30 times" lunatics.

Followed up by, "OMFG, my iPhone 5 dies after 2 hours"

haha if this phone does have 4g. everyone bragging about battery is in for a good taste of what android users feel

Nope, definitely not sarcasm. I don't have a garage either, so I keep a pair of leather gloves for the sole purpose of driving so I don't need to hold the cold steering wheel.
