I believe this is the first image of me publicly available on the internet.
I was thinking this as I was watching. Now we all know who you are and what you look like! ;)

But seriously, you did a great job and represented the site and Mac fans alike very well!

By the way, a suit is not my normal attire... but seemed most appropriate for an interview. :)
I thought it looked quite nice - I'm kind of sick of the "blogger in jeans" that seems to come up too often in news interviews.

I got kind of bored with the whole story, so I didn't watch the whole thing, but question - how much lead time did you have between the request and actual interview?

Congrats arn!

Very great to see the community represented so greatly!

I agree with all the comments about the interviewer in this thread.

Asks a question, doesn't even wait for a full answer and blasts the guys "answer." That poor guy...

Congrats Arn! ...You went from a mysterious individual to a national celebrity in a matter of minutes! ...I'm impressed! :D

You handled yourself very well on camera.

By the way, a suit is not my normal attire...

Just a wild guess, but blue jeans and a grey turtle anyone? :p

Great interview, nailed all the questions that host through at you, though he wasn't much of a host.

It's funny...

Apple's innovation is, I think, their pursuit of perfection in the interface of people and technology -- pretty much what Arn was getting at. I'm kind of disappointed, I should add, as I always thought that Arn was a highly advanced AI currently living on an Xserve cluster that became obsessed with Macs.

But all you have to say is, Apple makes the most enjoyable computer to use. They make the most enjoyable music player to use. And likely, they will make the most enjoyable phone to use.

And whenever anybody says Apple only has 5% of the market, all you have to say is, they are one of the top few computer manufacturers in terms of units sold, and their computing division is HIGHLY profitable, generating a few hundred million in net profit each quarter these days! How is that not successful?

Great performance, and even better for someone who's obviously a private kind of fella.

The anchor is hard - good journalist, to be honest (am one myself) and asked the right questions.

Arn played it perfect. Big kudos and super to see you.

Lurker and not usual poster, but that interview has prompted me to say great stuff. And thanks for the site. Was sure that it was run by a very canny guy (it could only be as fantastic as is it is if it was). My suspicions were completely confirmed.

Hope you enjoyed it.

Great Job Arn!

I do have to say you're not at all what I expected. I almost thought it would be some über geek who would hide behind a cinema display all day listening to an iPod and doing all sorts of secret communication with insiders 24/7/365 :p

The host was a real ****. I hope he gets crabs. Or Ebola. Or something cool sounding like Guillain-Barre.

They accuse us of being fanboys, but the misinformation and myths out there make them the fanboys.

You rocked man! Way to keep your composure!

Dylan is such an ass.

Apple did NOT need the iPod to sell computers, we still would have anyways.

Look at FireFox. How many people said 2-3 years ago that no one could unseat the mighty IE? Now look at the percentage numbers!

Guys like Dylan have their heads so far up their own asses that they don't realize how simple minded they are being in their comments.

Cool, arn looks just like I would have expected! No surprise they had him on - what other mac site compares with glorious macrumors! None, of course.:p

Am I the only one who can't play this video? MSN says I don't have flash installed, but Adobe and YouTube, etc... all say I have it installed and it works perfectly. I've tried both Camino and Firefox...

I'll have to check it out when I get home (at work and can't be playing audio over the computer's speakers).

I wonder how much this will increase traffic/forum members on MacRumors?

Great performance, and even better for The anchor is hard - good journalist, to be honest (am one myself) and asked the right questions.

Why do you think he is a good journalist? I thought he was half a good journalist. I agree with you that he asked the right questions, but he was quite rude and very curt about things. Granted, Bob definitely was speaking as a fanboy and starting a tangent, but the guy really hounded him right as (I felt) he was about to come to the point, which wasted more time than he would have if he'd just let the guy finish.

I dunno, I could never respect anyone who was discourteous, no matter how talented he might be.

Kudos, arn, I thought that was really impressive. Going on TV seems like a hard thing to me for the inexperienced--it's gotta be really easy to make a total fool out of yourself in 2 minutes, as I am sure I would. You came off classy, much classier than either of the other two guys. Congrats!

Thumbs Up

This makes all those hours at the keyboard worthwhile, right? :D

Congrats on making it to national TV!

(I had to over-emphazise the boldness of my thumbs-up there, I swear I did it on purpose)

Arn, good job. I am sure it is really difficult to not screw up when you are thinking about how millions of viewers are watching you live. I wish you had more time to shut down the Microsoft loving host. The show's set up so it's virtually impossible to have time to do that. The host was just trying to re-enforce the stereotypes and had little knowledge of the reality. The whole 95% market share it skewed. He needs to compare stop comparing Apple to the entire PC market, and start comparing Apple to Dell or HP (a single company). Lets see Dell create their own OS and see how well that goes.

I was thinking the exact same thing. You're completely right.
Also, I have not a single kind word for that host. I don't take kindly to idiots.
...and I am amazed by the variety of ways he managed to pronounce the phrase "iPod." Burn.

Arn, you're a gentleman and an articulate human being. Kudos. ...even if you aren't a mystery, anymore.

It think it was ironic that the host was trying downplay the importance of an Apple iPhone, while the screen was posting a big jump in Apple stock price.

We need to have a follow up interview so the host can explain why Apple was able to sell millions of phones just because they were cool.:D

Who's the grey haired interviewer guy? He's a wanker.

No kidding. What an a**hole.... I can't stand those Bill ORiley-esque "interviewers" those that raise an argument but don't want to hear the answer...

P.S. Good job Arn.

That was pretty slick for a first appearance Arn. A suit is always nice, just as long as you stay away from any kind of crazy shirt and tie patterns and bad color combos. They otherwise distract from even the best delivered answers- (or so my media trainer girlfriend tells me). I bet you get booked again after this!

Guys like Dylan have their heads so far up their own asses that they don't realize how simple minded they are being in their comments.

Or as Wild Bill' Guarnere once said:

"[Dylan's] head is so far up his ****** ass that the lump in his throat is his nose"

interviewer

That interviewer is an anti-apple guy, i saw him before, he always praises M$..

Congrats Arn..
