Okay, let me ask this.. If you did not have any iPhone at the moment, would you still buy the 6S+ or go for the 7+ instead ?

If I didn't have an iPhone at the moment I'd definitely go with the 7+ because it's the latest iteration. If I had the 6S+ I'd probably keep it.

The only reason I'm keeping my 7 over the 6S is because I got a great deal on the 7. I do miss my headphone jack though. Yesterday I was at Starbucks and my BT headphones died on me, while my iPhone was at 36%. I wound up charging the iPhone and going musicless for an hour and a half. Not a big deal but I can see this happening again. Also, even a good pair of BT earphones are no match to the SQ I get on a good set of wired ones.

I was already making payments on my 6s+. Either I would continue making payments on that or i'd make them on a 7 plus. Either way i'm making payments. Might as well take the new phone.

Brilliant! That's exactly how they like you to think. Thank you for confirming apple's sales strategy is working.

I've upgraded every year since the iPhone 3GS and have been happy with the updates from year to year. This is probably the first time I've really noticed no noticeable difference between the 6S and 7. The biggest update is the camera and it's nice, but it's still a marginal upgrade in the camera

Thinking about returning it or selling it, not sure
To each their own. It's a personal decision. Works for some, others not so much. Works for me.

Usually if there are features that I want I strongly consider upgrading. I went from 4S to 5S for Touch ID and 5S to 6 Plus for the bigger screen and Apple Pay.

I went with the 7 Plus because it was time after 2 years with the 6 Plus and also the Black color 3D Touch and the camera upgraded chip. The new home button is cool also

Trust your instinct. Return or sell if you are not satisfied.

I agree that the iPhone 6 to 6S was huge, especially for plus users. The 6 Plus was so painfully slow that I still held onto my iPhone 5 and skipped two generations for the iPhone 6S.

This year I used t-mobile's Jump! Program to go from the 6S Plus to 7 Plus and I have to disagree with a lot of folks on here: I really do see the performance gains.

The 7 Plus is so much quicker, the speakers considerably louder and the battery has been noticeably improved. I did not think the camera would matter to me, but the photographs I've taken are simply stunning!

At this point, I'm not sure how Apple could improve much upon this phone as it is for next year. I do wish it was a bit lighter, however.

I absolutely love my 7 Plus. The new camera is best-in-class, the speed with the extra gig of ram and new processor, the stereo speakers, water resistance, and the new colors (I chose matte Black/Black) is well worth the upgrade. My 6S Plus was plenty fast but the 7 Plus ups it to speeds I've never seen on any other smartphone. No lag, no problems, great battery life. Some people are having trouble with theirs but mine has been rock solid. I don't mind the removal of the headphone jack, it's of my opinion that it will become a thing of the past and that Bluetooth sounds every bit as good and it's 2016, the future is wireless. The fact they were able to do stereo speakers too was just icing on the cake. I personally use a combination of bluetooth headphones, chromecast audio, and the built in speakers depending on my mood that day or the application. It works just fine.

I upgrade iPhones every year though. I went from 6 Plus to 6S Plus to now a 7 Plus and will do so for the forseeable future. I don't like being behind the curve and while older iPhones get updates (much better than the competition), I find the new exclusives to be worth the upgrade. iPads I generally upgrade every 3 years and Macs every 4 years. I find they don't need changing as much. I also tend to find the changes aren't as big from year to year. This year will be big for Mac.

Ultimately, I feel while they did keep the same construction, the changes this year were more than enough of a reason to upgrade, IMO. They are selling like hotcakes now and I see why. It's a great smartphone and this year is no exception.

As someone who came from the 6S to the 7 Plus, I had a huge difference. Of course most of it was just because I went from the regular form factor to the larger form factor. I still notice quite a big difference in speed in every day use, and I love the new camera. The new speakers are insanely loud for how small they are, along with the new water resistance, it was overall worth the upgrade for me

This is why I really want Apple to push the upgrade program worldwide. No need to worry about this kind of thing anymore. Just get the latest iPhone every year for a monthly payment.

That's easy you go for the iPhone 7 Plus. If you do not have an iPhone you go for the newest, but if you already have a 6s or 6s Plus then you could probably keep it...

although im a huge Apple fanboy and would like to get the latest and greatest everytime i always skip a generation or more. From the 3Gs>5>6s>8 . as Apple likes to save features for the next iPhone i save my money for those big features as well . And the iPhone 8 will be my next phone,Skipping the 7.

the increased battery on the 7 is reason enough to upgrade if you can I think, as the 6's were noted for not great battery life.
Then you have the addition of ois (most noticable for steadying video) which makes the main camera just as good as the pluses but in a convenient size.
Then you have a brighter display, which Ive compared and is noticable, but not a huge difference.
The stereo speaker is also a significant improvement. While not essential to hear things, it's nice have audio coming at you from the display rather than just off to the side.
Then there is the waterproofing and the cooler colours, and no more clacking home button.
I think the improvements from 6s to 7 are better than from 6 to 6s

or theres the other group of people who just doesn't care about the 7 and hopes the difference between the 6s and the 2017 iPhone is worth the upgrade
