*sigh*, just... no...

Jobs was such an extraordinary presenter and speaker, I wouldn't doubt Jobs himself would have made a better actor than Kutcher.

That would be the hard part. I've seen so many interviews. Steve had such keen insights to share. He was always meticulous, even in his younger years. Yes sometimes his answers come over as very prepared, but the way he brings it really draws you in.

I think some people are taking it a little too far. I mean, sure, it might have been better to copy the exact clothing Steve wore (just ignoring the fact that he didn't really use to wear this stuff untill later in life), but I can't say it would make the movie any less good to me. The movie could be made less good if the script sucks or if Ashton's acting really turns out to be that bad, but I couldn't care less about him wearing the exact same shoes. As long as there is resemblance and it's recognizable.

I think detail makes a movie great. Mannerism, details to this kind of stuff, will make things feel more authentic. And makes you appreciate the filmmakers. I'm sure Ashton will wear the exact clothes once they start filming.

No, no he doesn't.

Even if he doesn't look like the real Jobs, why are people like you so obsessed on the idea that the actor playing him needs to look exactly like Jobs? Are you really that much of a fanatic of this man that you want him literally reincarnated in this upcoming film?

Perhaps to satisfy that obsession, they might have to use the same technology they used to bring Tupac to life. Otherwise that obsession might require medical attention, immediately.

His black turtle neck was by St Croix. Sure he had 100 of them. Starting wearing then in 1999.

sigh...the guy was GOING to the set NOT in it. Clearly is his own clothes and he is trying to get into character & a great PR move for the movie & him.

The guy literally begged for this role. He really should be as accurate as possible on details since Steve is one of the more closely scrutinized personalities on this little planet.

It is like folks talking about Star Trak. Or Dr. Spock. You just know they don't get it instantly. And gets in the way of the story in unchangable ways.

Rocketman

Sorry, every time I think of Kutcher I can't help but think of how he butchered Demi Moore.

OT, I know, but still...

In the early days, Steve mostly wore sandals, jeans and a "business casual" shirt.

He told me 'shaving hurt' and so avoided it as much as possible. He bought the suit for the West Coast Computer Faire and when he walked in that way, it was a shock. He was soon back to jeans & short sleeved shirt.

Does anyone know what time period this movie focuses on? For it to be interesting at all it needs to focus on the NeXT and Pixar years. I'm fully expecting it to focus almost completely on the return to Apple years which would be about as interesting as watching all of the keynotes back to back.

I think it goes up to when Jobs left Apple.

Thanks for the info (honestly had no idea because the idea of the movie does not interest me).

As far as only being the early years, well that is completely uninteresting. You essentially have Jobs before he mellowed a bit and before he learned anything from his mistakes. It would have no resolution (Pirates of Silicon Valley had the resolution with Jobs returning and Microsoft giving Apple money in a weird implied friendship...but they also skipped the NeXT and Pixar years). You basically end with Jobs enraged and wanting to destroy Apple.

A chill ran down my spine. Marlon Brando/The Godfather. Robert De Niro/Raging Bull. Heath Ledger/The Dark Knight.

Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs.

Did you seriously just compare Ashton Kutcher to those acting legends? Really?
