I'm reminded of Father Guido Sarducci on SNL, back in the day, advertising "Mr. Tea" (to compete with Mr. Coffee, a popular coffeemaker at the time), which was basically a funnel on a stand - you pour your hot water in the top and you get hot water in your tea cup.
That's hilarious--Mr. Coffee actually made a "Mrs. Tea" tea pot for a number of years.

You can hear Humane staff partying after finally being knocked off top spot in the "Most Pointless Product" category.

I saw they are having a clearance sale over at Humane

Not sure who is buying that at this point

Faster and more rewarding to literally burn money in your fireplace

I have a mild case of repetitive strain injury - going on 15 years - and am curious about how this form factor feels to hold for long periods. Instead of having a big Plus or Pro Max phone, i have the iPhone 12 mini because it is also the lightest phone to hold, and i don't use it a lot, preferring either a tablet i can rest in my lap or something with a keyboard.

I wonder if it is useful, too, for folks that might have other disabilities that affect their hands- maybe folks with arthritis or shaky hands from another illness.

From a completely different vantage point, the design is kind of campy-- if you've seen the extra huge silicon cases that often increase phone sizes to roughly this dimension (and often taller) then you know what i'm talking about.

Why in the world didn't they include some sort of page forward, page back buttons on this. It seems like an obvious inclusion and a missed opportunity on their part.

I made one just like this a while back as a simple project.

Just grab 2 x £10 notes and role them long ways into tubes to form the sides. For the back use 2 x £5 notes laid flat with the ends slightly rolled into the £10 tubes. Coat the whole thing in clear epoxy (£1) and allow to cure.

For the pro edition you can even add some magnets and a charging cable to achieve the full £40 effect.

With the clear epoxy design everyone will know what you did with the money and judge you accordingly.

Classic case of “is there a gap in the market? but more importantly is there a market in the gap”
