Is there anyway you can check what carrier settings are loaded on your phone through settings?

EDIT: NVM. I found it.

I've sent 2 pictures, they each took like 5 minutes to send. They haven't received them yet, and now I'm trying to send another one and it will not send after waiting 5 minutes.

3.1 does not break MS active sync. It's complying with SSL rules.

So, when I go to 3.1, I cant get my email anymore?

In that case, yeah, it's broken.

Rephrase it anyway you like, they dropped the ball on that one big time.

Ok, so I guess I have to decide if I want to keep my exchange account for work, or be able to use MMS.
(3.1 is required for MMS. 3.1 on the IPhone 3G breaks exchange active sync.)

Thanks for putting me in that situation Apple!

With a little digging you can make it work on 3.0. I didn't upgrade so I could keep tethering (and before any of you say anything, **** off. they don't offer it as a service yet), and using the help.benm.at site was able to load the MMS profile just fine and still keep 3.0 and tethering.

Just installed iTunes at work - plugged my phone in and immediately got prompted for the update. Didn't have to sync my device (phew!).

Can this be done on any machine without losing you data?

Yep!!! I sync with my computer at home but I have iTunes on my work PC and just did it, and nothing happened to my phone! All I did was download & install the update...took 5 seconds + the restart.

Will the carrier file work on the original iPhone?

If you manually forced iTunes to install the carrier file that was just released, would it work on the original iPhone? Has anyone tried that?

Early Adopters punished

I have the original iphone and once again cannot use the features of those who wait. This sucks:mad:

Ok, someone please tell me how this is better than attaching a photo or movie to an email. Email requires nothing extra and it's free.

It's better because if someone sends me an MMS I can now see it without having to goto a web site and enter user and password.

The video quality is really crappy compared to the original file quality. I guess that’s just MMS.

Yes! Finally!

Workin great!

Don't forget to restart the phone after you install the carrier update! :)
