done everything suggested so far. don't want to switch sim cards as i've inputted the new sim on the att activation page. have had no service on my 6 for well over 2.5 hrs

I would try to get ahold of AT&T perhaps. The Mrs. just activated hers and it took under a minute.

Got mine 4 hours ago still cant make or receive calls. On the phone with ATT and they can't figure it out...

Wtf

Just changed SIM. Probably will have to change back later after they get things worked out.

Same here, started process at 10am when I got it, everything appeared OK, but can't make or receive calls, or access voicemail.

Going on 5 hours now.

Sounds exactly like me. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

FYI I just got off the phone with ATT. They had me confirm IMEI #, reset network settings, reboot phone, etc. Nothing worked. Rep offered to call me back later and said "it's probably because our network is busy today".

Not happy.

So if I have an iPhone 5S I can just take the sim out, slap it in the iPhone 6 and that's it? What happens when you plug it in to the computer? No activation?

I can't do mine until tomorrow because I have a wedding to go to after work. At least it got delivered today. Things will be a little more calmed down tomorrow anyway!!!

I just chatted with ATT customer service and they were able to activate the phone. The ATT agent said something about the IMEI/ICCID numbers on my new phone not matching what they had in their system and corrected it on their side.

The phone activated after a restart and the agent tested call, text, and voicemail. Voicemail took a few minutes to start working after activation.

I wish I would have tried activating it before I restored from my iPhone 5 backup. It's slooooooowly installing all the apps from iCloud so I don't want to restart it. Probably once I restart it will be activated.

My iPhone 5 was deactivated during the shipping of my 6+, because somehow the 6+ SIM got activated and I had to get a new SIM a couple of day ago from AT&T. And as expected when I turned on the 6+ it never got service. I just swapped my SIM from my 5 and I was good to go.

I gave up waiting 2 hours and called their automatic activation number. Took less than a minute and just rebooted the phone. Boom.

I bought a T-Mobile 6, so all I had to do was pop my sim in and it activated immediately. Not sure if it is different if the SIM has to activate too.

if I take my sim out of my iphone 5 and put it in my iphone 6 can I use the sim that came in my iphone 6 to put back in my iphone 5 and activate that sim on another line?

Tried to activate around 1:30 EST. Been waiting and decided to reboot phone. Works fine on startup. AT&T iPhone 6. Still never received confirmation email from at&t that iPhone was activated.
