Which part do you disagree with Andoid and iOS being different or iOS clearly dominating user experience?

Those both seem like valid claims to me. IOS devices have by far the highest customer satisfaction and mak up more than 50% of mobile web browsing ( that share continues to increase). To me, since Android claims such high 'activation' number (whatever that is), this means iOS mus completely dominate Android in terms of usability and user experience. Do you have som contrary evidence?

----------

Too bad you are misinformed or just lied. The S2 numbers are 10 million S2 in about 6 months. 18 million smartphones last quarter across about 100 models, and that number seems rather dubious. Why does it seem all android fans are incapable of doing even basic fact checking. Could their blatant misstatements be intentional?

What are you talking about???

When to expect phone

Because I have had many instances of ATT screwing up things with my account, I called to verify that my 64GB 4S order (made over the phone) was okay and being processed. Also wanted to verify when I could expect it.

The supervisor I spoke to said my order was being processed and then a vague "the phones will be shipped on the 14th and will arrive 3-5 business days after".

First off, I would like to know why no one is going to receive them the 1st or 2nd day after being shipped.
Also he didn't really address when MINE was to be shipped.

Is there a way to see on ATT's website when to expect your phone?
Is he correct that nobody who ordered their phone from ATT is going to see their phone till the 19th at the earliest ......or is he another clueless ATT rep?

Seems quite a few people are having buyers remorse. When I pre-ordered on Friday, I was listed as 448th in line for my Black 16GB, my GF was 427th for the Black 32 GB.

We're now 277th and 362nd respectively (seems more Black 16 GB are cancelling though).

Are you ordering from rogers? I ordered the 16gb black too and im 1756 in line now, i was 1950 at first.... a lot of people cancelled there order from rogers

Whatever. You haters are going to hate. I'm on AT&T and going to be upgrading from an iPhone 3G to the 4S. Might seem like a small upgrade for you folks on the iPhone 4, who have the luxury of upgrading each year, but for someone like me who has had their iPhone for 3+ years now, this is a major step forward.

Most complaining just wanted more of an upgrade. To me, that really isnt that unreasonable.

Now, some are going over-board in their dislike of 4s.....but the vast majority simply thought that something more would come out.

Yep, from Rogers.

I hope it's really a case of people cancelling/changing their pre-orders and not Rogers screwing up like they often do.

Anyway, I hope I'm low enough in the list to get them on Friday.

I am buying the 4s, but all these replies are just stupid. Sales don't dictate quality of the product. The nexus prime which will be released soon will no doubt be a much better phone, however it will not sell nearly as much. You're just displaying how limited your knowledge is. People were disappointed in the phone. Very few people actually claimed there would be decline in sales because the majority of consumers are not tech enthusiasts. And based on what I've seen on this thread neither are a lot of the people posting.

And before you continue your onslaught of idiotic comments the nexus prime is expected to have stainless steel backing as opposed to plastic.

People won't buy Nexus Primes because Android sucks even if the phone was made of gold and painted with leprechaun blood.

People will buy Nexus Primes. Nexus Primes won't put any sort of dent in the iPhone, though. Anyone who's suggesting that the SGS2 or the Nexus Prime are going to come anywhere remotely close to being as successful as the iPhone must be joking.

They were only right when Apple didn't exist prior to 1970's. The media has never understood Apple properly. Some people never will.

Just to honor and respect Mr. Steve Jobs, I'll buy the last device that was announced while he lived. I couldn't buy the first but I wouldn't miss the last.

Here is to Steve Jobs:

So I'm not the only one to justify upgrading to the 4s in part to help honor Mr. Jobs. Good to know!

yea, lots of people are cancelling, wonder how many would the first shipment be for pre orders, hopefully around 2000 for black 16gb

And I would not be surprised one bit if most of those cancelling turn around and get a 4s within a week of it being released.

We see it all the time on here. People cancel then change their minds when they see release day come and go

99¢ is reasonable....

So you have some evidence contradicting AT&Ts claim? Not only is this their biggest launch, it is th first one with competition. The 4s launch will easily be double the size of the 4. Anti-fanboy fantasies of doom do not impact demand.

----------

Share your evidence to support this. In fact jailbreak an iPhone 4 with iOS 5 and make Siri work for us. What you wouldn't even know where to begin? Weird, you seemed so confident.

Those numbers only include 1 of those 3 US carriers and also don't include the other 6 countries...

Yeah when I first made that post I thought it said APPLE not AT&T.

That or they could not get carrier approvel for the upgrade. I know the system got so back logged that Apple started putting people in line for pre order and told them that it would try to check on approval threw some time on Saturday before cancelling them. Those would of hit the system followed by the new update cycle for your spot in line..

Has anyone that ordered between 1 AM - 2 AM PST time received a email saying your phone was "Prepared for shipment"?

Lol, I guess feigning ignoranceis the best defense against a completely failed argument.

----------

So i guess lack of sales make it a great product?

Apparently the very best phone is the one no one wants. The most objective criteria for best we have is sales and scientifically conducted customer satisfaction surveys. The iPhone 4s will be replacing the current best phone, the iPhone 4. If another phone is better, why don't more people buy it?

Taking individual specs and claiming some supposed improvement in one makes something "the best" is just silly.

Wait u mean the laggy android phone with fewer sales and the same specs is NOT the better phone???

No such thing with Rogers' system. It's a reservation list. All you're doing is reserving a device, regardless of whether you're upgrade elligible or not (I'm not for both my lines yet I still have my reservations). Come ship day, that's where the in-store guy will check your status and bill you accordingly (they won't refuse to sell you the phone, they'll just make you pay more for it).

The only explanations for the Rogers "line-bumping" is :

- Cancelling alltogether
- Switching device

Now, I doubt the 16 GB and 32 GB Black models are the "least" popular somehow, so there must be quite a few more cancellations going on. Might those people decided to go unlocked though.

I'd really love to know how the F$% it really matters how much other phones are selling? Why do some posters on here care SO SO SO much about how much "more" Apple phones are selling or not selling in comparison to their competition. If you ordered an iPhone - enjoy it. If you didn't - enjoy whatever phone you did order or whatever phone you have.

When I read the countless posts bashing the competition my only thought is - wow - how insecure are these people that they have to make themselves feel better about their purchases.

The fact is, it doesn't matter. You can't compare the Android/iOS platforms based on handset sales. There's more competition on the Android side because you're less "locked-in" with your paid content than on iOS. You can switch devices/OEMs depending on the "saveur du jour" without incurring too much loss.

Hence, sales of single model devices are lower. There's a lot of people who get iPhones despite there being models more suited to them on the market, all for the sake of getting into iOS. There's just no other choice.

Hence iPhone will sell more than every other phone, but the platform running on all those other phones will outsell iPhone.
