So..im on a family plan with 4 total lines...

2 of the lines we got the iphone 3G within launch WEEK.. me and my bro

Checked elgibility on ATT just now...NOT elgible until March 2010

total bill for the family is 160 something..FAN account..

You think we have a shot at the subsidized price??
Sorry but it is not likely unless one of your iPhone 3G units is the primary line and the line has a MRC of > $99 per month and you already had an Upgrade Eligible date of July / Aug / Sept.

Does anyone know if Premier members will get the new pricing? I have a corporate line and can't tell when my re-up actually is.
On a Premier account you have to go all the way to the "Premier" store and get the list of your groups available phones. At the top of that page you will see One or Two messages that provide your Upgrade Options.

Im eligible to upgrade on 8/30/09
my question is Can I still upgrade to the 16GB iphone 3GS for $199 even tho I dont own an iphone 3G? I just own a regular ATT phone

If you are eligible for an upgrade then you are eligible for an upgrade of any phone!
So yes.

I don't think that's right.

We’re now pleased to offer our iPhone 3G customers who are upgrade eligible in July, August or September 2009 our best upgrade pricing, beginning Thursday, June 18.

It's only for current iPhone 3G owners who will be affected by this, and since he doesn't own an iPhone 3G, nothing changes (the 8/30/09 isn't going to change).

That's great so now all the whining can come to an end right. . . .

Nope! Not on Macrumors lol

Yeah me, they treat all switchover Iphoners from other carriers, but don't take care of a 10 year loyal customer. I had both previous Iphones, but because my bill isn't $99 or higher and my eligible upgrade is 3/10/2010. I gotta pay the early upgrade fee for $399/499. Nice way of doing business.....stick it to the LOYAL CUSTOMERS:mad::mad::mad:

does anyone know this for sure:confused:

I had a lengthy "discussion" with a elevated supervisor at AT&T before. It says I'm eligible on 12/12/09. I have 3 lines on my account, one of which is my iPhone which I purchased the first day it came out. The second is a blackberry with data and the third is a regular phone. I have data on the iPhone, and Blackberry and unlimited texting for all. Needless to say I pay welll over the $99 per month. And yet AT&T still does not want to let some people purchase a 3G S at a fully subsidized price.

The service rep said to wait till about "Noon" EST tomorrow after all the accounts are done updating and call back to check further availability as some accounts are being upgraded to the "Limited Timeframe" He couldn't tell me what makes you able to get in that bracket, just that some people may get bumped.

He also said that this wasn't on AT&T's part to offer this but on Apples. Mostly because it forces them to update every single iPhone account, and while doing so they are Supposed to be getting rid of the MMS Opt out code from the accounts. He said there was a big PR issue with the no MMS, Tethering, and Upgrade pricing. So Apple put the pressure on AT&T to do right by the customer. He said we should be seeing the MMS sooner then later, but couldn't give an exact date.

Well that's all I have for now, Hopefully I will fall into that Limited Offer category and I can just upgrade my 3G and not have to add another line to get it at a fully subsidized price.

Well I was planning on showing up early tomorrow and buying the phone for the $399 pricing. Should I wait, or will I be able to see if I fall in that special category you mention?

dial *639# from your phone it will let you know if you qualify. Apparently I don't because it has to be $99 per iPhone line and since my iPhone is on my second line it doesn't make it. Oh well. Not gonna stop me from getting it.
