AT&T Announces iPhone MMS Launch Date: September 25

Who else's fault would it be ? MMS works on iPhones if AT&T networks allow it.
it isn't implemented in a non jailbroken iphone's OS.. where is the option on my iphone to send an MMS? if it was just the network, when trying to send an MMS on the iphone a error would pop up saying the network is down of some kind, such as on any other phone that allows MMS

it already works on dozens of carriers outside the US, including Canada, since day one of 3.0 being released. have to love educated people...

the 25th.. That's good but i'm not going to nut-hug ATT. Here in jersey i get dropped calls all the time. My contract ends in November for my 5 phones on my family plan. Once it ends, i'm NOT renewing. Instead i'm waiting to see what happens.
ATT has everyone wrapped around their finger because they are the ONLY company that can have iPhone legally. Charge what they want, and do what they want with MMS, tethering, customer service, etc...
Once, and IF apple goes with other carriers, the will lead to PRICE DROP, and options. ATT will then DROP PRICES, OFFER STARS to customers because most will leave their phone service.
I'm actually thinking about going to blackberry with Verizon due to att. If it wasn't for the iPhone i would have been LONG gone. ATT promised late summer, they literally made it fall. They are irresponsible company. I can't wait for something to happen.
If it doesn't, i'll just get another phone with Verizon next year. Dropped calls are ridiculous. And it's strange how it's always on a IMPORTANT call, and not when i'm just talking about nothing.
BTW, i'm just steaming because i hear it on a daily bases. Many people HATING att but stuck to it just because of the iphone.

Actually - about 5 years. MMS has been available for YEARS AND YEARS everywhere else.

All you need is to put a minor change into the carrier file on the phone, no change to the OS at all, and it will be enabled. Along with tethering. Takes all of 30 seconds to change the file and then you will have the ability to do this yourself. Google is your friend.
i wonder if this is when 3.1 will be released or if it will just be an update to the carrier settings
haha the woman in the picture is using first gen iphone so she won't even be able to use mms

I'm hoping both. And then another update to the carrier settings a few hours later to enable tethering for those who want it. 😀

A little later than I anticipated, but they did manage to say that they will activate MMS by the end of summer and start of fall is officially around there so they did activate it by late summer...LATE summer. 😀

I don't understand all this update network BS. It's the same network that allows me to upload an unlimited number of videos and photos via email. Same data. Same network.
And, other than flash, it allows me to upload and download unlimited amounts via a eeb browser. All over 3g network or edge network.
If they need such big upgrades, why do all these services work just fine?

So you mean to tell me that after all this time they're dicking over the first gen users on MMS. Why can't they get it? It runs the same OS as the 3G and 3GS?
MMS, a feature which 90% of you Americans wont use as it cheaper to send pics via email (here they charge 4 SMS credits for 1 picture).
Ive only sent 5 pics since it came enabled in 3.0.

Why does that show WiFi instead of 3G ?
And I might add the "MMS" you sent me was a text message pointing to a cingular website to view the pic. And I definitely have a provisioned,legal version of the 3.1 software.
Furthermore I tried to send you an MMS and it had the red exclamation mark.
